Found this slug in my outdoor grow
    #8948293 - 09/18/08 08:34 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

I have been using all of the tricks to catch what was eating my mushies.  I would have a patch one night and the next morning they would be just an anus left.  Last night i decided to stake out my territory and i found this one gobbling down on the largest one i had.

Does anyone know the species?

leave a container of beer close to the patch. slugs prefer beer to mushrooms, unfortunately for them, it kills them.

copper wire around your patch will work to. or just a ring of pennies around your fruit.

but you could also use those pennies to buy beer, drink it 3/4 down, and use it to kill them.

or use the pennies to buy salt.

either way:omgawesome:

yeah if you are feeding them pennies. but then again that would make you sick just the same.

cats aren't going to be affected by some copper in a bed outdoors.

I should try that, I injected a slug with 91% pure isopropyl, spilled some around him and lit it on fire, a while back. My friend was like "OMG BAD KARMA!" Sure smelled like bad karma lol.

It looks like the garden variety slug here in Australia. Possibly also known as a leopard slug.

The nexus of space and time where you are now is the most immediate sector of your universe, and if you're worrying about Michael Jackson or Bill Clinton or somebody else, then you are disempowered, you're giving it all away to icons, icons which are maintained by an electronic media so that you want to dress like X or have lips like Y. This is shit-brained, this kind of thinking. That is all cultural diversion, and what is real is you and your friends and your associations, your highs, your orgasms, your hopes, your plans, your fears. And we are told 'no', we're unimportant, we're peripheral. 'Get a degree, get a job, get a this, get a that.' And then you're a player, you don't want to even play in that game. Thanks.  That is what i called it just from it's markings.  I did find pictures it on the web which confirmed the name and that it was a common slug in the US also.  I found it's hermaphrodite mate doing a backkkkk swwwwimmmm in the beer pool.  I left it there to drown and to see if the others would try and save it.

Some of you have mentioned penny's.  I will look more into this, but i don't think are penny's are made of copper like they were back in the day.

a ring of crushed eggshells can work too, combined with beer traps it keeps my veggies safe.

liked that post on jacking a slug with isopropyl, truly inspired.

you know fishing bait maggots fit perfectly into the breach of .177 airguns making organic paintballs, try it.
