Physical pain.
    #2182138 - 12/16/03 09:53 AM (20 years, 3 months ago)

My neck is killing me, this pain is my demon. It just comes and goes and comes and goes. But never leaves forever, it goes all the way up in my head. It makes me feel like i want to jump into a wall to soften te pain.
You know a kind of pain that makes you break stuff.
Does anyone have any suggestions what so ever?
I already went to specialists various times.. I do callcenter work so i have to sit behind a pc for most of the day..

I'm gonna stop typing because the pain is just too much...

Acknowledge that pain is just an idea. It is just your nerve endings firing and your brain interpreting the signals as something is wrong. Pain is just an idea and if you don't let it bother you, you can transcend it's grasp on you.

I have the same problems with my neck/back. Its probably from working at this catering company where I do lots of physical labor (especially in the ice cold weather).

Take some advil and smoke a bowl.

You might also want to look into this muscle relaxant called "Soma" (you can order it off the 'net if you look). It works for some people but doesn't do shit for me. Just smoke up and find a hot chick to give you massages.

Well...

I agree with that for about 50%, because pain is also a mechanism that our body uses to warn us about something.
And even i sometimes can controle my pain by thinking it away, distraction can sometimes take away the pain. But not always.  :smirk:

Pills always help, but a bowl... Sometimes it helps, and sometimes it makes things worse. Because then i just hang in my seat like a bag of chips, causing my neck to get more stressed. And then when the high passes by and i return to the clear. The pain sometimes is worse then before i did the bowl.

But thanks for the ideas, i'm glad today i don't feel any pain... (Smoked a bowl and took some painkillers..

Go see a pain specialist and get something prescribed... It doesn't have to be oxycontin but something to help that you can take at work...Good luck.

A pain specialist? Never heard of it. The recommendation makes me think you mean S.M.

Scary. She looks like she'd hurt ya...

No, seriously, a pain specialist is a M.D. that specializes in treating pain. A buddy of mine goes to one for his totally obliteraded thigh bone that had to be reconstructed. Another buddy goes to one for a sliped disk in his back.

That sucks. I can tell you, though, most likely it's your posture while you're sitting in front of the computer all day.

You should see a spine specialist for this -- an orthopaedic doctor specializing in spine or neck problems, etc. (I don't reccomend a chiropractor in this case -- sometimes they can do more harm than good.)
