would this be a possible alternative to a terrarium?

ok, as i understand it, sterility isnt as important during fruiting as incubating and innoculation. I can honsetly say i havent been sterile at all since i put my cakes into my makeshift rubbermaid terrarium and they seem to have flushed well. Now on to the question, i was wondering if it would work at all if say instead of using a typical terrarium, could you put your caseings/cakes into a deep bathtub, and then put an ultrasonic humidifier into the tub with the cakes/caseings and then the "fog" would fill the tub and keep stuff inside fairly humidified, would this work? i realise that it wouldnt have a top on it or anything like other terrariums, but it would naturally have all the air exchange it would need because it would be open. I also have an ionic air purifier i could put in the room too to help eliminate airborne bacterias. Does this sound like something that would even possibly fruit or am i totally completely barking up a dead tree?

You might have a hard time keeping your humidity up....

You'd also want to make sure oyur bathtub was at least somewhat clean

If you had somthing to cover the tub then it would work, you could just buy some saran wrap and put many strips across it. My friend tunred his extra bathtub into a huge casing not that long ago and he just mists it, but then again thats just a giant casing..

you could do a huge straw/dung bulk grow in there, you would need to cover it with plastic sheeting during the spawn run but after that if you used your ultrasonic the humid mist would naturally pool at the bottom of the bath, you'd have to take some measures to displace the CO2 that would also pool in the bottom of the bath.
you could use a sheet of clear perspex plastic to cover the whole bath if you wanted to be sure of keeping contams out,air exchange could be covered by a couple of high output aquarium pumps.

i want to see the pics if you pull this baby off.
