Home Depot cactus ID
    #21744140 - 05/31/15 08:24 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Hey guys
I bought this decorative little cactus at home depot but it didn't have a name on it at all
I know it's not active (duh) but I'm wondering if anyone could take a guess as to what it is

Thanks!

My vote is with Gymnocalycium sp. . . and some (Are) reported to have some kinds of alkaloids. . depending on species.

I'm kinda ashamed to admit it, but I find pleasure in picking off those glued flowers...  Those poor cacti just don't deserve it...

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

No shame man. I pick those off in the store even when I don't buy them. I randomly do it.

I am considering a "free the Hylocereus undatus" movement, where I liberate all the poor dragonfruit being enslaved by variegated mutant gymnocalycium.

Oh I happily tell people that those little Hibotans do not survive on their own roots for long, nor will the pups, without graft. I have friends who come to me with gardening questions, and I tell them the boilogy of the mutation-strain.. No cholorphyll. so it cant survive without a host plant. are they pretty? yeah they are. . but would not survive long
