DON"T EAT CACTI. PLEASE.
magical or not there power comes from their presence, rather than through ingestion.
oh and to answer your question, they are all magical.

This. You want to enjoy the power of cacti? Trichocereus bridgesii exists for that.

if you cut the bridgesii 4 inches above the soil, the stump will give you more cuttings for the future.
so go on and enjoy yourself.

I dont know about baldianum but saglionis was tested for some peyote alkaloids and it came up a dud on mescaline (none detected, less than 0.00001% mescaline (fresh weight) if any). It had tiny (0.0001-0.001% fresh weight) amounts of some of the isoquinoline peyote alkaloids that are thought to make peyote distinct from san pedro in experiences but thats not a useful amount. In that study of 7 Gymnocalyciums G. striglianum was most promising with mescaline at 0.001% or greater, fresh weight, as well as traces of peyote isoquinolines. Still not useful but interesting. The 1995 paper was 'Identification of alkaloids of the genus Gymnocalycium'Quote:

i once cut a t.pachanoi down to an inch or two and to my amazement , the bugger bounced back with 6 pups the following year { one for each rib } . its gonna look awesome in the next year or so ! are 6 pups considered rare ? i'd like to think its worth more because of the freak factor .
