Seattle Cyans - Dec, 7 (pics)

Walked around a Seattle park for a good hour today not even finding woodchips, I had never been there before but had heard things about it, so I thought I would check it out.  Well after not even being able to find the habitat for cyans I was walking back to my car ready to head to areas I knew would be good.  Decided to take a short cut through some brush and stumbled on an area that was about 100'x100' covered in woodchips.  I was there for another 1.5 just straight picking until my legs couldn't handle being bent over and my containers were full.  This place was amazing I left so many mushrooms behind just cause I got sick of picking.  :grin:
Well anyways, I left my camera in the USB for a couple days not knowing in still drains the batteries, so the habitat pics I have are from me rubbing the batteries to heat them up and suck every last milliamp out of them.  So no flash and no LCD screen, they aren't the best pics but oh well.



A nice haul.  It's hard to believe but all this was taken from that one 1000 sq ft area.  And what I have is ridiculously small compared to what was left behind.
I've never seen anything quite like it with every step I had to make sure I wasn't going to squish any.  :grin:

This pic does not do it justice, I'll post the dry weight tomorrow if they're done by then.

I really like the bottom photo showing your haul for the day.  That's a LOT of cyans!

Funny story about walking back to the car because the same thing kinda happened to me yesterday.  I was walking back to my car to grab some scissors and found a HUGE patch on the way.

This season has made a great turnaround since those freezes we had.  The best part is, I think we've still got several more weeks.  YA YA YA! :nut: :nut: :nut:

Yeah, I'm hoping for a nice long season like last year to counter out the late start.
It sure is nice pickin in late Feb. I remember someone posting a while back they were picking until March of last year even.

I was picking at a park today (the 7th) with a buddy of mine and we ran into someone else who was picking who mentioned this site. Was that you? It sounds like our spot.

Yeah, that was probably me. It's a sweet spot, incredibly dense with cyans for it's size. Seems capable of supporting quite a few people since there was someone else who arrived right when I was leaving and there were still plenty left for him.
