A Strange Juxtaposition...

Everything you can think of is true Before the ocean was blue We were lost in a flood Run red with your blood Nigerian skeleton crew
Everything you can think of is true The dish ran away with the spoon Dig deep in your heart for that little red glow We?re decomposing as we go
Everything you can think of is true And fishes make wishes on you We?re fighting our way up dreamland?s spine Red flamingos and expensive wine
Everything you can think of is true The baby?s asleep in your shoe Your teeth are buildings with yellow doors Your eyes are fish on a creamy shore

You can hang me in a bottle like a cat Let the crows pick me clean but for my hat Where the wailing of a baby Meets the footsteps of the dead We?re all mad here
As the devil sticks his flag into the mud Mrs Carol has run off with Reverend Judd Hell is such a lonely place And your big expensive face will never last
And you?ll die with the rose still on your lips And in time the heart-shaped bone that was your hips And the worms, they will climb the rugged ladder of your spine We?re all mad here
And my eyeballs roll this terrible terrain And we?re all inside a decomposing train And your eyes will die like fish And the shore of your face will turn to bone

Last night I dreamed that I was dreaming of you And from a window across the lawn I watched you undress Wearing your sunset of purple tightly woven around your hair That rose in strangled ebony curls Moving in a yellow bedroom light The air is wet with sound The faraway yelping of a wounded dog And the ground is drinking a slow faucet leak Your house is so soft and fading as it soaks the black summer heat A light goes on and the door opens And a yellow cat runs out on the stream of hall light and into the yard
A wooden cherry scent is faintly breathing the air I hear your champagne laugh You wear two lavender orchids One in your hair and one on your hip A string of yellow carnival lights comes on with the dusk Circling the lake with a slowly dipping halo And I hear a banjo tango
And you dance into the shadow of a black poplar tree And I watched you as you disappeared I watched you as you disappeared I watched you as you disappeared I watched you as you disappeared

Learning lines in the rain Special effects by Loonatik and Drinks The graveyard scene The golden years
She?s in parties It?s in the can
Freeze frame screen kiss Hot heads under silent wigs Fall guys tumble on the cutting room floor Look-a-likes fall on the cutting room door
She?s in parties It?s in the can
Learning lines in the rain Special effects by Loonatik and drinks Freeze frame, screen kiss, hot heads, lights and power It?s patently obvious
She?s in parties It?s in the can
Hot lines under a rain of drum Cigarette props in action Dialogue dub, now heres the rub She?s acting her reaction
She?s in parties It?s in the can

Her gaze hit the side of mine So I opened it out To destroy what you thought was difference
So I lied to you once again So I painted over you once again So I die before you once again ?What?s the difference?
Come clearly where the flavour is Seen here in black and white You?ve got two seconds baby boy In burning light white light ?What?s the difference?
Clear up what you are Burn out these eyes Rip up this place and scream ?I am your slice of life?
Shivering under lamposts Shivering under glass Your standing on charisma again God knows it cannot last ?What?s the difference?
Ice inside your body Blood inside your soul
Yet still twelve faces stand around Hugging your skinny bones ?What?s the difference?
So clear up what you are Burn out these eyes, rip up this place and scream ?I am your slice of life?
And the car opened him up to so much more And the money is brighter with a wider smile And the problem expands inside your head
?I am your slice of life?

Running without aim Through the razor weeds That only reach my knees And when I?m lying in the grey sleep I don?t know how to walk the boards I open my eyes, and look at the floor And now I don?t see you anymore
There is no choice, we make the point To counteract a threatening hand Close my hold As we near the atmosphere

These are the stories of Edgar Allan Poe Not exactly the boy next door
He?ll tell you tales of horror Then he?ll play with your mind If you haven?t heard him You must be deaf or blind.
These are the stories of Edgar Allen Poe Not exactly the boy next door
He?ll tell you about Usher Whose house burned in his mind His love for his dear sister Her death would drive him wild The murder of a stranger The murder of a friend The callings from the pits of hell That never seem to end.
These are the stories of Edgar Allan Poe Not exactly the boy next door These are the stories of Edgar Allan Poe Not exactly the boy next door
The diabolic image of the city and the sea The chaos and the carnage that reside deep within me Decapitations ? poisonings ?hellish not a bore You won?t need 3D glasses to pass beyond this door.
These are the stories of Edgar Allan Poe Not exactly the boy next door
No Nosferatu Vincent Price or naked women here A mind unfurled a mind unbent is all we have here Truth, fried orangutans flutter to the stage Leave your expectations home And listen to the stories of Edgar Allan Poe.
We give you the soliloquy the raven at the door The flaming pits the moving walls no equilibrium No ballast no bombast The unvarnished truth we?ve got A mind that swoons guiltily at night Cooking ravings in a pot.
A tell-tale heart a rotting cask A valley of unrest A conqueror worm devouring souls Keep the best for last Rings for Annie Lee As Poe?s buried alive Regretting his beloved?s death in all her Many guises.
These are the stories of Edgar Allan Poe Not exactly the boy next door

Dobie, actually, I think we were listening to, "Bone Machine," by Tom Waits. That was also the soundtrack for a most excellent, and frightening, late night run into Astoria, on Friday night!
This is the place where she lay her head When she went to bed at night And this is the place our children were conceived Candles lit the room at night
And this is the place where she cut her wrists That odd and fateful night And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling
This is the place where we used to live I paid for it with love and blood And these are the boxes that she kept on the shelf Filled with her poetry and stuff
And this is the room where she took the razor And cut her wrists that strange and fateful night And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling
I never would have started if I?d known That it?d end this way But funny thing I?m not at all sad That it stopped this way Stopped this way

I?m a little balloon and I get puffed up Squeeze me and bend me it?s never enough Put your lips around me, blow me up But if you prick me I will pop
I?m a little balloon full and firm Here is my aft and here?s my stern Here?s my lips and here?s my hose Put me down or I will burst If you prick me I will burst!
*Lou ReedWell, that?s all folks! Sorry, but I spent all night painting, so I?ve been a little "edgy," and this seemed like a good way to wind down at the end of the day...
