If you're looking for a little stove, check out the biolite stove.
I have one of these and it's pretty fucking cool, you use twigs and sticks and cardboard as your fuel rather than any kind of gas and the heat from the stove generates electricity to charge shit through USB.

I actually haven't had a chance to use it yet since I got it over Winter, but in that video I posted it took 12 minutes to boil about a quart of water and reviews are great for it.
Definitely going to be putting it to good use throughout this spring and summer :sun:

Also get a rain sack that bungee around your pack to keep it dry in the rain

it was as life changing as it was at some points incredibly boring or exausting. you will get stuck in dead end towns, but you will also meet a lot of rad people and see beauty thats hard to explain to people.

I saw an eclipse happen at the grand canyon.

I drank and shared stories on the navajo reservation.

I struggled to get out of the south side of chigaco without getting killed.

I stayed on a ranch and helped out in hurricane utah.

shit just happens when you are on the road. I pushed myself to the limit almost every day.

Those don't really work that well at all for the field. Plus they aren't very durable. Too many parts. My friend got one and it broke in 2 weeks, and it's not very efficient at either boiling water or charging. I have a portable solar charger that charges much much much faster.

I like things that are multipurpose for backpacking, and I liked the idea of that thing at first.. but that thing is kind of gimmicky IMO and doesn't work all that great for the things it's supposed to do. I'd just stick with a tried and true stove as that's an important piece of gear.

Or even better, make your own penny stove for literally pennies. It weighs mere ounces, can use a variety of easy to obtain and cheap fuels, can make one in about 10 minutes with nothing but aluminum cans, a knife and a penny.. and it boils water just as fast as some of the best camp stoves out there.
