Shroomery announces new mobile app; tech experts are raving * 1
    #21486758 -

The Shroomery has just announced the scheduled release of its first mobile app, along with screenshots displaying its metro-inspired UI. Tech experts are raving about the impact this app will have on iPhone and Android users. "It's like nothing we've ever seen before.", writes coder Aaron Swartz. "It's rare for a social media app to exhibit so much grace and refinement, but to appeal to consumers in such a broad way is also unremarkable in this field." The Shroomery App, whose icon is a multicolored mushroom, enables users to enjoy the same features they did on the website - but from the comfort of their smartphone.
The Shroomery, which sees itself “very much as a tool of free speech,” has made it clear that content supporting drug use is not tolerated, but tech experts say that “instantaneous” chat rooms always leave open the possibility of such use and that it’s “unlikely” the Shroomery would filter criminal content, writes CNET's Shaq.
“When you make technology like this available to everyone, then this is the risk that you accept,” he said. “I guarantee you something crazy will happen, but it’ll be more important to see how the company responds.” For now, the website remains silent on the issue and only posted that it has plans to "install a censoring service in the future" to make sure the app and site remain clean and family-friendly.
