Only a racist would find these terms to be offensive. They are the ones attaching the negative connotations to it, not I. I am simply using any other word in the English language and if you find it offensive, you should do some introspection.

I agree totally 100% agree with you. Using the term, "African American" is, contrary to LDS's view, mislabeling, not labeling. Anyone who was born in America, is an American, nothing more. By the calling any black an,"African American" logic, I would identify as a European American, but I don't, because only my ancestors lived in Europe long ago and I was born in America.

But then you have specific identifiers to refer to someone more specifically if need be, such as black, lesbian, women. Saying exactly what she is isn't offensive. If it's offensive, that means there of some kind of negative connotations to it. However, these connotations don't exist in my mind But to believe it is offensive you are the one implying negative connotations.
