What Did All Of You Think Of The 2015 Oscars?

I was rather Happy of how it all went down. I enjoyed The Musical acts of The Lego Movie rendition of "Everything is Awesome" and I'm not of fan of Lady GaGa, but she really did well in Tribute to "The Sound Of Music". I also was Rather pleased on How much they kept it Classy.
I was also Very Happy that the Wes Anderson Film "The Grand Budapest Hotel",was Nominated so much and Won quiet a few Awards. Wes Anderson has a very special place in Heart, I love the cinematography of All his Films...He truly is a Director of Great Intelligence & is a Genius of his own Caliber.
So What Did you all Enjoy or Even Dislike about The 2015 Oscars?

Well I kept catching little bits of it last night.

I did catch the Lego Movie bit and I thought it was really entertaining. The Grand Budapest Hotel was such a great film and wish it would have won best picture but I haven't seen Birdman yet so I can't say it was better.

Do you have any other Wes Anderson films you can suggest or even just your favorite?
I've been meaning to watch more of his work after seeing what he did in Budapest but haven't gotten around to it.

I haven't watched to the Oscars since I was a kid.
I don't give a shit what others think about certain actors or movies.
I can make my own decisions on what I think of them and decide what to watch based on what I think looks interesting, not whatever gets an award.

I think the Oscars are designed to be for the movie industry by the industry which in theory makes for a good event.
I like the idea of rewarding films, just not in the super self-indulgent and materialistic way the Oscars go about it.

This leaves people outside of the industry just listening and watching to what the celebrities wore, what they did while at the show, and what parties they went to afterwards. Nothing at all really to do with the art of making or starring in the films.

I was watching Because of Wes Anderson his movies Are really special IMO, I tend to stay away from mainstream flicks, but they R now giving credit due to people who deserve it, such as foreign films and a lot more categories to get the little directors the boost the need and documentaries and short films.

Wes Anderson Movies Must see's IMAO, starting from best to ok...
1. The Darjeeling Limited :seriousthumbsup:
2. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou :seriousthumbsup:
3. The Royal Tenenbaums :seriousthumbsup:
4. Moonrise Kingdom :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
5. Rushmore :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
6. Fantastic Mr. Fox :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
7. Bottle Rocket :thumbup::thumbup:
8. The Grand Budapest Hotel this is in my top four,:seriousthumbsup: just kinda skipped it since you have seen it but they are all must to watch, and you see his creativity evolve if you watch them in dates they were released, getting better than the previous as they all follow a certain Style, he uses, But there you go! watch them all they are really truly good movies.:seriousthumbsup:

Funny thing is when I went to see, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Me and my friend were the Only people in the Cinema that was not 50 years of age and plus group, we were the only mid twenties people their...no young  adults, but us two...But we have a passion for his movies and his incredible Art style. Enjoy!

I find the entire industry loathesome.  I only consume their product under duress from the womenfolk in my life.

The Life Aquatic was the film that was suggested to me a while back but couldn't for the life of me remember the title  until now. Thank you for that, I'll be checking it out tonight. :thumbup:

I've read that some of his earlier work was very discombobulated for lack of a better word, but if his ability to create a story and characters is somewhat similar in other films compared to GBH, count me in!

Edit: When I went to watch GBH it was at a drive-in theater at the midnight opening screening and there were maybe 4 other cars and like you mentioned, the other people were in their 50's & older.
A couple cinephile friends of mine were so excited for it which is the reason I first watched it, and it really delivered.

yeah seems to be more older crowd who watch his movies, also his movies R extremely hard to find when they release in theaters, which is so sad because they are really are great movies, Life aquatic is awesome you will truly enjoy it it wanna my top three, the Darjeeling Limited is Great and then The Royal Tannabaums! watch them and the report back to me on what you thought of the but ones I just said R must, Moonrise Kingdom is also good but save it for after the ones I mentioned, Enjoy and please let me know what you think after you watch each one!:seriousthumbsup: Jus

Yeah Most are made for the masses, But Wes Andersons films are Gems within that industry and really made for people of the Shroomery like Nature and mindsets, Truly! watch "Darjeeling Limited" and tell me it was not a good Movie...PS I understand women folk aspect of it, sometimes that crap is just mind numbing dribble...:confused: asking yourself "ohh God why did I ever watch that", and "I wont get those hours back" ughh. I understand thy pain when it comes to that...
