Muru pre-nerf kill, world 10th. This fight was fucking HARD AS FUCK pre nerf.. we wiped to it like 4 hours a day every day for like 2-3 weeks straight
Required perfect performance from every single person in the raid. If ONE person made a single mistake.. wipe.

I quit the game over it.... A month of wiping due to 75% of the time to some random motherfucker disconnecting, plus my job as an spriest was to just stand there and soak the boss and mass dispel darkness.  I kind of wish there was a buy to play, no leveling WoW arena game though, where I could casually play 10 games of 3v3 without the rest of the hassle that comes with WoW.

I hear ya. That fight tested the limits of people's patience..
I loved PvP.. but I lived for the extreme PvE raids.

Naxxramas at level 60 was the absolute pinnacle of WoW to me. but holy FUCK did that require insane amounts of time investment. It was so tightly tuned, you could not even HOPE to beat it without every single player in the highest level of gear possible (at that time... a mix of full BWL/AQ40 gear), as well as every player on their absolute A game, and every player fully flasked/potted out with every possible potion and min/maxed gear. Also at that time, you could stack multiple potion buffs/scrolls and a flask.. which was pretty much required for most of the boss fights.

In order to have enough mats for potions and flasks.. we held server contests where we had people on the server farm mats for us and send them in. The 3 highest contributors at the end of every week we would carry through a full BWL clear and give them at least 3 pieces of gear of their choosing. People fucking jumped on that.. BWL was a joke for us but many people hadn't even seen MC at that point. We had people sending in thousands and thousands of herbs. That provided most of our pots/flasks for Naxx.

Naxx may have been a little insane. I kind of see why they nerfed the fuck out of it and then re-introduced it as a starter level 70 instance... they probably spent a fuckton of time building that instance.. only to have it obsolete like 3-4 months after release, with only like 0.5% of guilds even stepping foot in there past the first couple bosses.

I'd probably play again if they could recreate that same feel, without having to invest the insane amount of time just to get the prerequisites.
There was nothing quite like working together as a team to down a really hard raid boss, that feeling of accomplishment after everyone had worked their asses off and wiped 100 times to learn the encounter and get all the mechanics down. But the total GRINDFEST just to get to that point, was insanity to say the least.

Same thing with arenas, or high end group PvP in the battlegrounds, although that was a different beast.

Right, I'd love to design a game that removed all the tedium and only left the hardcore GAMEPLAY aspects.  Alas, I guess this game would only appeal to .1%, but it deserves to be made... and I think it could be made for a fraction of the budget, considering the vast majority of the game is all that other shit you never wanted to do in the first place.

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

Could be done for free.

this is giving me nostalgia.  not that i ever got to the end game extent as you guys but i was playing end game before I quit.

Once WOTLK came out, all my gear became shit and I was so pissed all that grinding for nothing.
