They will force your companies card for the amount of the ticket. Even if they get it a month from now, they keep your card on file. My buddy dinged one on the bumper and they ran his card for like 800 bucks well over it's limit. I would be worried the rental company would tack on surcharge for paying your fine for you too. I would just pay it myself. Unless your company doesn't care about expenses, in which case lucky you

the rental car company will fight it citing you as the one renting the car,
the courts can then issue a warrant for your arrest since you had received
the ticket and didnt pay it or show for court to fight it

Anyone who gets a ticket in a company vehicle and decides it's the company's responsibility to deal with it deserves to lose their job. I would have paid it off immediately in the hopes my employer didn't find out.

Well, the reason I feel the company should pay, is because if it was up to me I wouldn't even WANT or NEED a company car.

Having a company car is a fucking pain in the ass when you live in a metropolitan city like Philly. It costs more money, more maintenance, and finding street parking is utter insanity.

Originally they said they wouldn't even pay for parking, which is why I ended up parking on the street and getting the ticket. Now they are saying, "Oh wait, we will pay for parking" after I told them about the ticket. Which is why I feel like they should pay for it.

They should have originally told me they would pay for parking, and I would have paid for an overnight lot that was $20 instead of paying $4 for street parking that apparently only lasted until 5AM.

This is the same company that told me to drive to the airport and park overnight for a week at $20 a night, instead of taking a taxi for $15 to the airport. They expense and reimbursed the $100 airport parking completely.

The way they do their expenses makes no sense, they should pay for the parking ticket.

This isn't my first dude. This is my second. I got my first parking ticket literally THE DAY I received my company car. :facepalm:

I actually have already gotten my car towed too. At least it was only $175, in California a basic tow would have cost $400.

Like I said, having a car is more trouble and costs more money in the long run, if this company is willing to spend $2,000+ a month flying me to different hotels and reimbursing my meals and gasoline, you would think they would be willing to pay for a $35 parking ticket, especially for a car that is more trouble to you than it is worth.

Oh that's right lol. The PPA.

I remember when I still had cable a few years ago there was some show on TLC I believe where they would film people getting boots on their cars, parking tickets, getting towed, and trying to get their car out the impound lot.

There would be a meter on the bottom of the screen to measure how mad the people would get. That was some fucked up shit, but really fun to watch while stoned.

Is the PPA really that bad darkstar? I was thinking they just made it look so horrible to make the show more interesting...

Goddamn... You gotta be careful about where you park in the city. I need to find an apartment complex  with it's own lot for my car. I'll walk & take public trans most places though.

Do you know how hard it is to find available parking in the city? If the company had told me they pay for parking like they should have, I would have bought a space in a lot.

And the only reason I haven't applied yet for a parking permit in the city, is because my real company car hasn't even arrived yet. That's why I have a completely unnecessary rental car until then.

I asked my company for the make, model, year, and driver's license plate number of my future car so I can apply for a city parking permit while I still have time, and they won't even give me that information yet.

If the company doesn't pay for my most recent tow and parking, I'm going to take a picture of the street signs and fight the charges. I parked on like 19th and Walnut, and literally on the same block that I parked, there were at least 8 different signs on the street that I parked on, all 3 feet within each other, and all the signs contradicted each other.

The sign I was parked behind of, said parking was prohibited from 8AM. Yet I came to my vehicle at 8AM, and found my vehicle was towed by 7AM, and I had gotten a parking ticket from 5:30AM.

I even asked the valet who works on that street if I could park overnight there, and he even said, "Yeah, as long as you come by 8AM."

I think I may be able to fight it, just based on the fact that there were a bajillion street signs, and they all contradicted each other.

not any harder than finding it in any other city, I personally like to read the signs so I dont get a parking ticket

did you not think to ask if they pay for the parking and then decline the
car on the basis that you wouldnt be able to afford parking?

I DID read the signs. The sign that I was closest to, in front of me, said that parking was not allowed from 8AM to 10AM. I even paid the $4 that it cost to park on the street. Yet my car was ticketed at 5:30AM, and my car was towed at 7:30, makes no sense. I need to fight this with the Philadelphia Parking Authority.

I can't decline the car. It comes with the job. I need the car to perform "the work," but the company should also be obligated to cover things such as parking.

Finding an apartment with a parking spot is practically impossible in almost any decent area in Philly. It's like Manhattan. All apartments that have parking lots will be completely full, or it's going to cost $200 a month (which the company should have said they are covering in the first place), or you are going to be living in the hood or in some rural area and end up having to drive like 45 minutes into traffic just to get to work.

And anyway, the car itself isn't even totally free. They take $100 a month out of my paycheck for me to use this thing. This thing that is required for the job.

Would that be considered terrorism, if I did that, you think? Mailing biohazardous materials to the city?

I know in atlanta there was a constant battle, I got out of a few parking
tickets because of the sign placement and failure t trim trees and shit
