Got a Parking Ticket in a Rental Car--Am I Legally Obligated to Pay?

The car is not in my name, it's a rental car that was paid for by my company. But obviously the rental car company has a copy of my driver's license and shit.

I'm assuming the ticket won't be billed to me, it will go to the rental car company. Can they transfer the ticket to me? Will my credit be fucked if I don't pay it, or will this be the rental company's fault?

Would the rental company have insurance for something such as this?

I would assume that you probably have to pay the ticket.

I'm sure this sort of thing happens all the time with rentals. I would just pay the ticket before the rental company tries tacking on additional handling fees or some other bullshit add on to make them even more coin in the process.

I just read this on another forum from somebody who worked in the auto business:

dont do anything, just assume your company has a budget for these kind of things (iwoudl think they would) and report back in a month or however long with results

Dude if the meter maid didn't take down you're drivers license which I'm assuming they wouldn't then just throw away the ticket.

Why is everyone besides Koods and Pokey telling OP to not pay the ticket or just forget about it/throw it out?

Your proper course of action should be to contact your employer asap to tell them you received a ticket.

I would think legally she would not have to pay it,
but once the ticket gets to Crystal's employer obviously they're gonna tell her it's either coming out of her pay or they are taking care of it.

Simple as that.

Edit: Also I was under the impression that it's against the law to drive a rental car unless it's under your name.

well i work to get paid not other way around so sure probably best to just tell them about it but if they dont pay it id quit on the spot and spit at their feet.. maybe throw some french in there too
