OK what is incoherent about the link I posted on equality?

I believe equality leads to less violence and less crime and I posted a link to support that idea?

Lets start there because theres so much you have asked me.

Replies like this one are why most people won't take the time to explain to you why your ideas are infeasible and asinine.

Not only did I not refer to a link as the thing being incoherent, you didn't even post a link in the post I was replying to. :doublefacepalm:

Not only is this not even close to the point I'm disputing, you also phrased it as a statement and then put a question mark at the end. :doublefacepalm:

No lets start where you quote me line for line and give your opinion, in a clear and concise manner. Getting bogged down in stupid useless drivel like what you're trying to turn this into already wasn't my intention when entering this thread. Reply to me explaining everything you have to explain or I'm out. I'm not going to sit here with you and waste my Saturday making each post about one minor, fairly irrelevant side topic for hours on end like you have already shown is your intention.

Right, so a minor error such as a question mark threw you off completely from any understanding?  lol

Sounds like more diversions to me, again well away from the point.

People make mistakes dude, we're typing.  I'm sorry I'll hire a proof reader next time in case a . makes you so confused you can't understand the words :ducklol:

This is my final copy and paste ^

This is what I'm talking about.  It has nothing to do with question marks.  Nothing to do with winning.  Nothing to do with scholorlary articles.  There is no proof or scientific evidence.  Its an IDEA.  A thought lmao

So lets just deal with this ^

What is not coherent?

What is "wrong" with the idea.

1000 quid bet any replies are diversions or ad hom attacks, theres 9 pages of it so far   People pretending they can't understand it cuz of this or that its all me not them :p  If its really me I'll accept it but it reads ok to me.  Whats the problem?  Other than I annoyed you :smirk: or more specifically, you annoyed you.

Your 4 replies to me consisted of 19 lines, 14 of which were contributing to petty shit. I'll try to petty arguing to under a rather astounding, 73% of my total post. It is obvious who enjoys the petty internet business more than the other and what your true intention of making this thread was.

You have said that you only want to deal with this quote and nothing else.

Quote:
I'm talking here about how everyone is a product of their environment

One's environment certainly does influence a rather large portion of how one develops, however this is not the sole factor. Genetics have been revealed to influence much more about a person than ever thought before, including happiness,  intelligence and personality.

Quote:
invasion and war MIGHT not be the answer to these issues

Of course they aren't, has anyone in this whole thread advocated that they are the "answer." Also, what is the answer? You say, "Everyone is a product of their environment" and later say, "answer to these issues." First of all, you listed on thing. So what issue(s) are you talking about? Since the dawn of time, ones development was largely influenced by ones environment. This is how every living person in the world has developed, why is this an issue? Or are you very vaguely implying that "these issues" refer to atrocities committed world wide and the excuse for them is simply "people are a product of their environment?" You then go on to express that your solution to this whole epidemic is to teach people how to think critically.

So now we have established what problem you think you have a solution to. The "issues"(problem) are the atrocities committed worldwide by anyone who cannot think about what they are doing critically and decide not to do it. Your solution to this issue is to teach anyone who commits these atrocities how to think critically.

I for one, am amazed, that there is a way to prevent any atrocity from happening worldwide and it is as simple as teaching people to think critically. This solution is so simple, original and revolutionary that I must apply it to my life right now!

When I think critically about teaching someone who may end up doing something bad to think critically this comes to mind.

1.)Who exactly is going to be chosen to be taught to think critically?
-You may want to answer this by grouping a population of people by race/country/region/continent/age/gender etc. This will yield you with a specific answer of who exactly will be taught to think critically.

2.)What does teaching someone to "think critically" entail?
-Elaborate on the exact system used for teaching someone to think critically, including whether or not they meet in a classroom, how often, who will teach, whether or not transportation to this classroom will be provided, who will pay for these teaching centers running costs(salaries, electricity and what not) and the cost of building them, who will decide whether or not(real world example) of who would oversee this whole endeavor.

3.)Some logistical flaws in the plan I have in mind are, the location of these teaching centers(whether they'd have to be built on government owned land), the actual course material of teaching someone how to think critically(I don't even know how you would actually teach someone how to do this and some people just innately can't, exemplified by internet trolls who think they have solved the world), who would enforce someone to go to these teaching sessions or take any course at all for that matter(who exactly would force students to take this course and intervene physically if they didn't((what you're arguing about, military intervention, would be the only absolute way to force someone to be taught to think critically))), if one country adopted this plan, how would they impose it on another country(you of all people must respect someone's right to do as they please on land that is sovereign to them, so, any country that didn't want to adhere to the policies you've laid out could only be forced to do so with military intervention. So there is absolutely zero way, other than military intervention, "we" could actually force them to apply your "solution" to their country and even if they did, you'd have to resort to miliary intervention again to force the people to respect this policy.)

That's not to say that I agree that a soldier defending his or her country is the same as a thug murdering someone. Both are ultimately bad, one is much less bad and noble.

I look at it like this.

There are two reasons the soldiers are fighting. The first being the political agenda of their home country and the second being to defend their home country.

The soldiers enlist in the military with the sole intention of defending their country. There is nothing at all bad about this. In fact I believe it is noble to do this and I highly respect every soldier for their service and bravery.

Sometimes the political reasoning behind the war really is bad. In this case, the soldiers have two options. The first being to enter into the war and defend their country and the second being to drop out of the military in protest of the war. Option one may appeal to some because the soldiers are still defending their country regardless of external motives. The second option may appeal to some because by entering the war, whether or not the soldiers' intention is to defend their home country, they're enabling governments to carry out their sometimes malicious plans motivated by their political agenda. The soldier must weigh both of these options and think about the consequences of both. I respect the soldier that goes to war to defend his country and loved ones no matter what and I respect the soldier that peacefully discharges himself from the military.

I have found very few who have been openly more appreciative of soldiers than I throughout my life.

As long as he peacefully discharges himself under the terms he signed on for.  AWOL and desertion are not acceptable.

Here is a question for a mind as great as yours to ponder.

Take a real life example, such as the Taliban attack in Pakistan where 145 people, mostly children were killed.
http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/16/world/asia/pakistan-peshawar-school-attack/
The article didn't say exactly how many gunmen that there were to carry out this operation. Say there were 20 men.

Now, yes or no, is it justifiable to kill 20 men in order to save 145 men, women and children?

I can't answer that yes or no without studying the entire spectrum of possability with you guys.  I hold no empiricle truth.

In a civilised society such the one ours could be, we have a choice.  We have intelligence and abundance.  I don't see the need for any justified murder except when ones own life is being defended against someone not being civilised.

I don't think invading a country and killing serves any purpose other than financial.  It supports a corrupt segment of the economy.  Everything else is bullshit lies they built up to gain support for this to finance it.

Our society has the ability to choose and if we choose intelligence then I think we should try other methods.

1) We know invading and killing will only perpetuate more violence
2) I suspect we could change the environment to change the people

Equality leads to less violence.  Teaching people "critical thinking" by this I mean teaching them to be cultured so they can realise religions and extreme beliefs cause unnesacery war.

I can't really explain it any better than this at this time.  I'm trying

They've been trying that for centuries. What does one do when critical thinking just ain't working?..
