Re: Does blue light affect growth?
    #20819 -

I can not tell you much about the blue light.but my sisters husbands dogs cousin once used a setup with a red heat lamp and and pin formation stop ammediatly and the shrooms that was on the way when he installed the lamp stoped in growth after two days and became one inch maximum. However the blue light is suppose to increase pin formation if Im not totaly misinformed.
Peace

Hey, keep me posted on your progress. Does anyone else know some facts here. I'm sure I could do some research, but I want a quick fix here

blue light promotes pinhead formation. a flourescent tube with a natural light spectrum is all you need for this proccess of using light as a method of initiation, incubate spawn in total darkness, if you want to check the mycelium for growth progress or contamination us a light with a red spectra NOT a "red heat lamp/ultaviolet light" this is no good. peace.

thanks for the info, i dont think it will make much of a difference anyway because the blue light is only coming in from the top of the terrarium. if they pin unusually fast or anything i'll let you know.
