me too, i saw this thread earlier and thought yay i get to see an eclipse, and i  looked out side just now and it was dark, and i was like damn, i forgot to look at the sun

Looks like a large X class flare just kicked off the sun, might be a precurser to more flares, and may have caused a large Coronal Mass Ejection, the things auroras are made of....

It's seems a lot of people have had a fantasy of an apocalypse. I know I have. I like the idea of retreating into a primal state, none of the bullshit that surrounds us today, just the need to survive. Though, it won't be anything like the movies and I'm sure we'd regret it if it actually were to happen :lol:

This is exactly why America should have never stopped our shuttle program.  We would be able to launch the shuttles and they could then spray sun screen between Earth and the sun.
