Mushrooms growing on pinecones - pics

These were all found last week. Post inspired by Paid's mystery Clitocybe

imobiletoe, I think the 'grass' you can see is a large moss. I do have larger pics of these but I'm busy uploading other stuff at the moment...

Paid y'no your shrooms are looking more and more like Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca (the false chantarelle) like ToxicMan suggested. I've been out hunting a lot recently, in coniferous woodland, around our part of the country, and this is one species that seems to be thriving despite the dry conditions. In some places it is everywhere. You can check to see if the gills fork near the cap edge. I have not seen this species growing on pine cones before, but it is not mycorrhizal and grows on needle-litter, dead conifer wood etc. so I guess it all fits.
