Creationism is a theory, and the big bang...is a theory. A theory is an unproven hypothesis. There are some thing in the universe that I think humans will never fully understand. We cannot fathom infinity, the fact that time has always been, and will never end. We cannot fathom the fact that the universe has no beginning or ending. Everything we know and understand in this world has a beginning and an end. This world was created at some point, and eventually will end. One fact that is undeniable is that matter cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed into a different form of matter. So, if this is the case, where did all the matter in the universe come from to create what we know now as "the universe"? I think its important for people to keep an open mind. When you close your mind to certain ideas, you limit yourself. Some people refuse to even acknowledge the fact that a god or high power may exist. You are limiting yourself! I cannot prove that a higher power exists, and I am not a religious person. I do not go to any church. But after spending many nights looking at the sky and pondering the universe, I believe that there is no way that all this is just random and just came out of nowhere. Evolution? Sure, no one can intelligently argue natural selection. But heres what really gets me. No one can prove a God exists.....but no one can prove a God doesnt exist either

"no one can prove a God doesnt exist"

The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim. The claim is that a God exists, therefore proof must be provided for that claim.

Why do I have to prove to you a God exists? Can you prove to me that one doesnt exist? Neither of us are wrong IMO, because there is no proof either way  I dont think people should be mocked for believing in a God when people who say no god exists cant prove that to anyone

Once again, there is a difference between the colloquial theory spoken by layman and a scientific theory. Creationism is a theory solely based on a hypothesis that cannot be tested, reproduced, and does not provide data that leads to conclusions. Creationists just have a hypothesis that is pretty much a conclusion since they ommited the other steps of the scientifc method.

A scientific theory is one derived from multiple experiments and observations that can be reproduced to form a conclusion that may differ from the original hypothesis.

We have the germ theory, that's a scientific theory but yet people go crazy buying antibiotics and sanitizing cleaners to prevent illness. How about all those yearly flu shots? We have the theory of gravity, go ahead and jump and see if you come back down. There's the theory of electromagnetism, if you don't believe in this one go ahead and turn of the lights ur using right now. While your at it forget about using the computer or your cellphone or the internet. How about the atomic theory? Ohh don't even get me started with this one. The list goes on and on brother!

Haha I knew my post would get people worked up  Trust me, im educated and I understand these theories. Im not denying any of them lol. I know gravity exists...blah blah blah. Im just saying, you cant limit yourself to close minded beliefs. People used to believe the world was fucking flat. They though the guy who proposed it was round was a fucking fool. But it took someone who thought outside of the current scientific knowledge to make advances.  Now, people think that the creationist idea is outdated and blow it off thinking that science can somehow prove otherwise. Yet, it hasnt yet. So keep an open mind. When someone can prove to me that a god doesnt exist, sure ill be open to it, but im also open to the idea that a god COULD exist.

Science hasn't proven the existence of God wrong, but they've proven evolution at this point (because it has been witnessed and manipulated, all of which has been recorded), and it's disproven nearly everything passed off as fact in the Bible, Korah, Toran, ancient apocrypha, whatever

No its not.  In science a theory is a broad collection of evidence that supports many hypothesis.

You don't technically "prove" things in science.  All proofs are dependent on the postulates or axioms they are derived under.  In science all postulates are tentative with respect to new evidence and thus no hypothesis is ever "proved".  A hypothesis can be supported by evidence.  With enough evidence and supported hypotheses a theory is developed.

I'm not refuting god, all I'm saying is that I don't believe a creator was responsible for the creation of life. By the way, the idea that the earth was flat was a myth. People have known the Earth was round for thousands of years. In fact Eratosthenes roughly calculated the circumference of the Earth around 200BC. Not saying some people didn't believe the earth was round. There have been stupid ass ignorant people all throughout human history.

That is where god is defined though... The god(s) that people actually worship do have evidence against them.  The only god that is not contradicted by evidence is an ad-hoc god of the gaps purposefully constructed to avoid evidence and scrutiny.  This god's realm is of course constantly shrinking...

Well sure, I said no one can argue the fact of evolution, its quite obvious everywhere we look. We can manipulate plants to produce only the best genes, that essentially is human induced evolution. I also said that im not religious, meaning I dont believe in any specific god or religion. Sure evolution is relatively proven, but where the fuck did all of the matter to create the universe come from???? Where did the first microbes that evolved into complex organism come from? Did the chicken or the egg come first? Im not arguing either way  I just like stimulating a good argument. Personally I believe there is a god, but I cant prove it, and you cant disprove it lol

yup.  at one point not too long ago science supported the idea that Caucasians are genetically superior to all other "races" and that blacks were subhuman, if human at all.  it was common sense back then.  that's why I try not to totally believe stuff I hear, even if science backs it up.  ill agree that something may be more likely or probable or whatever, but belief is a strong word, although I still use it lol

You can't even prove France is real.  Or that the Earth is round.  You can only support the idea with evidence.  Living your life based on possibilities is ignorant.  Probabilities is where wisdom and knowledge lie.

Im satisfied that the evidence we have does not entail a god in any conventional sense.  I am also satisfied that if my conclusion based on current evidence is wrong, the god that exists is not worth devotion or worshiping anyway.

"Science" did nothing of the sort...  Scientific theories and conclusions can of course be incompatible with evidence and be updated at will to conform with new evidence.  This is a strength of science, not a weakness.
