School Paper

Hey everyone, im doing a persuasive essay for college english comp 1. The idea im pushing is that Drugs that the general public sees as bad have good uses and in certain settings and for multiple reasons can really change someones life. My actual thesis is different, but more or less the same thing. What are some good resources that you guys suggest, internet, books, magazines, what? Any and All help will be really appreciated.

The advice I would give you is to show both sides of the argument. Give a few anti-drug setiments and then counter them with something pro-drug. Don't just make the whole thing about how great drugs are and how they can do no harm. Other than that shouldn't be too hard of a paper methinks.

no no, thtas not the type of paper im trying to write.. it has to be around 1250 words.. 7 pages or so. And its a persuasive paper, so i have to pick one side and persuade the audience *teacher* to my side. You guys have any good resources? Please help me out.

i thought normally on these types of papers you bring up reasons why they say somthing is wrong then you make points to counter it .

look, the best way to get your point across, is do as baraka and slime have said. first, discuss certain points as to why people think these drugs are bad, then counter these points with your thoughts, quoting your sources etc....dont just show how you think they are good...but at the same time show how their views on the subject are wrong...at least thats how i have always done my persuasive essays....

one thing you could do though, is talk about how they are studying the effects of psilocybin on obsessive compulsive disorder here at the university of arizona...i havent really stayed up to date with the study, but if their findings show anything positive it could be good to ad to your paper. or just the fact that they are researching it might be enough to make it one of your points...it shows that there may actually be some medical potential

look man, you want us to write it for you or what? are you telling me that you have not found a single site with some info about the war on drugs, or have you even tried to do it yourself yet? just do a google search for some key words....like "war on drugs" or "legalization of drugs" would be a good start....then go from there :grin:
