Downloading a super duper big program...

I don?t mind the wait, but I got a couple of questions.  I don?t really use kazaa so I don?t know some of this stuff.

One:  When you click on a download with a + symbol (see pics) seems like you?re forced to download the same program from several users at one time.  Does this slowdown the download or make it quicker...?  I would imagine it would slow it down, but what is it downloading from each user?



Two:  You know how sometimes you get bumped offline, or the remote user signs off and other quarky shit that happens..When kazaa starts back up it starts downloading where it left off, but is this realiable could it miss some information upon reconnecting?  Could I wait the whole duration only to find out some small peice of info was lost do to getting bumped offline and the program won?t work?

Peer to peer networks like Kazza and Bearshare download the programs in small blocks and arrange them in order for you. That way you can get files from several sources simultaineously at faster rates. Your still limited by upload and download limitations though. If your bandwidth limit is 16k thats as fast as it will come in from 1 or 100 users.
If a transfer is interupted the system only has to redownload a small replacement block, so the entire file won't be corrupted.

Try right clicking on the MAIN file and selecting 'Find More Sources For Download', unless you're already using SpeedUp, and if not, get K++, more secure.
