Really great compliments * 5

A couple weeks ago after a concert, there was a small verbal exchange that occurred between some members of the other people who were inside my car, and a fellow concert attendee who was walking through the parking lot. I don't remember the specifics, but I do believe the exchange was of an entirely healthy and friendly nature, typical post-show debauchery.

I said, "You're a great person and I love you" to this random person as they parted, in a completely casual and matter-of-fact sort of tone. He just seemed like that kinda guy to say that too.

There seemed to be about a second or two of silence afterwards, where the idea of whether I was being sarcastic or something had came into the collective consciousness. I obviously proceeded to clarify my intentions with more loving happiness though (Although, maybe the silence was simply imagined because I was on acid and saying "I DONT MEAN THAT IN A BAD WAY AN STUFF I JUST LOVE U AN STUFF AND IM ON ACID AND STUFF" after was un-necessary)


But the point is, there shouldn't have been the slightest question as to whether or not I was being sarcastic.

Everybody should just casually give each other really great compliments all the time, it'll be really fantastic. We can all be phenomenal people, living in a spectacular world, talking about how beautifully amazing it is that we're all here with each other, on a wonderfully thrillingly regular basis. OR, we can all just be bland as a bunch of cardboard boxes and not do that.

It is of my humble opinion, that giving really great compliments as often as possible is one of the most perfect things that we as a collective species can do. Find your inner joy, and don't hesitate to tell anyone how great of a person they are at anytime, as long as you truly mean it


Discuss the concept of consciously perpetuating really great compliments, and all related matters, in the most intelligently way humanly possible. Extra emphasis on this last part, because I just don't want anybody to get perma-banned for not discussing up to par

I need to start complimenting people more. It makes people like you. I just need to figure out how to do it in a way that doesn't sound artificial. I get told that I am a natural-born teacher or that I am very intelligent or something to that effect very frequently and it makes me feel good. My problem at this point is that I get the same compliments so frequently that I am bad at reacting to them, I am practicing just saying "thanks" with a smile on my face as if I don't get told that all the time so that people feel good about having complimented me. Everyone should feel good. I do compliment people on simple things like their clothes really often.

I agree Sheeks. Compliments are great, whether they're small things like "i like your shirt" or more personal things like " i love you, you're a beautiful person". Either way it's :thumbup:

All you got to do is say something, and the other person feels better and loved. It's really cool..

i onced complimented a stranger, i was driving and he pulled up at a stop light bumping nirvana, he seemed pretty happy n free, iwas trippin so i felt lovely att, so i turned to the dude and yelled 'fuck yea :thumbup:". he's like wut wut in the butt 'you like nirvana too', i was like yeea boye. then hes like fuck ya but then all of suthin he lowered his music down n kinda changed his good vibe to an awkward one. i felt kinda bad after because he seemed all happy at first. everything was good on my part, im guessing it might have been my bros who were also trppin with me, probably gave an awkard stare like 'wtf' at the dude or at the circumtance, and somehow projected their feelings unto him or sum shit.

if ur out there dood, im sorry. i really did mean it. nirvana rocks!
