What's the highest compliment you've ever recieved?
    #18431844 -

I'll start:

I got told by a psychiatrist who's world-renowned (books translated to 40+ languages) that I'm "the most outside-the-box thinker he's ever met".

I've also been told several times I've got a pure heart or am pure of heart, which feels good since I've done some evil in my day.

What about ya'll shroomtastic peeps?

I love it when ppl tell me tht my music sucks.

When squares tell me im weird.

A lot of people think i am smart and funny too.

When a cool person calls me cool that's pretty cool.

When I was on my high school's mock trial team I was playing the role of a psychiatrist. Since that's my life's passion and ultimate goal, I really got into the role doing hours upon hours of research on the topics at hand. By the time we had our competition and it was my turn to be on the stand as an expert witness I did a kickass job. All my teammates and our side of the crowed commented on how well I did but I thought they were just being polite at first. Then the judge started to give her comments at the end of the match and she said that I did an excellent job, even better than some real life expert witnesses she's had in her courtroom, and that she would have put me on the stand as an expert witness right then and there.:grin:

I've had a ton of awesome compliments in my life though. My AP US history teacher in HS told me I should have become a writer because I write so well. In the same vein, this girl at my training session thought I was an english major because I summarized an assignment succinctly for a girl who had missed the last class.  My favorite philosophy professor has told me I'm the best student he's had in over three years.

I generally see myself in a poor light and I have a hard time accepting compliments, but I really cherish them and keep them with me for the rest of my life. When I can't see my own greatness I harken back to times like these and it really helps me see the good in myself.

Moral of the story: give people compliments as often as possible! You never know when your compliment is going to resonate with someone and have a meaningful impact on their self-worth years later.:yesnod:

It seems like anytime I'm high in crowds concerts, raves, whatnot one person seeks me out to tell me "I'm so pretty and have an aura that draws people to me" multiple occasions of this. It's not the nicest thing anyone has ever said but it's one of those things that really sticks with you.... especially when it happens more than once

Heh I reminds me of the time I wrote a paper on how global warming is BS and my senior year HS English teacher wrote that it's the best student paper she's ever read. That felt good.

I remember in rehab after I told my story, 7(!!!) people told me that I should be a professional public speaker. Since I'm going to be a college professor, I guess that's not bad :awesomenod:.

Joie, I still think psychiatrists are evil but I think you'll make a good one. Part of you being a good one, though, has to be biweekly scripts for thirty 30mg temazepam capsules. You know it's the right thing to do.

Seizures just make you more manly, anyway :awehigh:.

I love how open people are at concerts! Hippiegirl, your story reminds me of a time at All Good last year when I hadn't showered for a day or two and was feeling pretty gross. I passed the same woman twice in the crowd and the second time she stopped me with a warm smile on her face and said, "you're so beautiful!" It was really sweet and it completely made my day, as if being at a festival all weekend wasn't good enough. :sun:

I really felt good all the times people came up to me at concerts and said "Wow you're so much prettier than lilhippiegirl!!!".

It really made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. :awesome:

For some reason, Fish are necessarily not afraid of me.

Lol way to go! Reminds me of the time I played my song, "Slow Down, Jesus" about Jesus running over my little brother in a psych ward. Most people were enthused and one needlessly christian patient was offended.

I roflcoptered.

Yeah animals too, we have quite a few stray cats around that will only let me pet them and I don't feed them or really like them too much lol

Exactly Joie, it's an awesome sort of pure rawness that I see in people at concerts/festivals like everyone's happy so it's easy for people to be real/themselves

Other than from my mom, compliments don't come easy for me, I don't hang out with people often enough to end up being in a situation where a genuine compliment comes my way. Although I have accumulated my fair share of insults:

- My ex-boss said I was a sociopath (when I went over is head. I'm more of a type A personality, bosses and workplace authority doesn't work for me)
- I was told I was mean in high school several times (I still don't know why, I was a shy, quiet kid)
- The roommates I kicked out called me an asshole/other stuff (for obvious reasons)

Does it count?

You know, as long as it made you feel warm and fuzzy inside we'll count it.

We'll make sure to find some and put some up around the office. :workaholics: :dawerp:
