I would never be a pussy I would save it for my sons son and I would smoke another big rolling paper like a page from the bible

I have it.  It isn't my first copy.  Guess what I did with the first one.  Also the original Thick As A Brick with the newspaper inside.  Some douche (me) filled in the connect the dots drawing, though.

I'd love to get my hands on the original Golden Earring Moontan with the naked woman on the cover.

How about some of the rare Underground 60's garage rock? Stuff like the Blues Magoos, The Seeds, Electric Prunes, 13th Floor Elevators, The Pretty Things etc. Love that rare stuff.

listening to music before your time is where it's at though. And really Zappa, you've never listened to the 13th Floor Elevators or The Pretty Things? Somewhat surprising.

Here's a song by Thee Oh Sees, one of my favorites of all the throw-back psych garage bands that have emerged in recent years (second only to Ty Segall).

This is excellent.  Thanks.

There's only so much you can listen to.  I have well over 200 vinyls and at least that many CDS but find that my regular rotation is probably only about 50 or so.  I just didn't know about the 60s garage bands so they didn't get into my historical consciousness.  I haven't even touched on the punks and protopunks (Iggy and the Velvets and MC5).  Here's some Elvis

Who is not punk by any means.  Just another example of a genre I love.  As for old music let's get to it

Sinatra

Hank Williams, not Jr.

Now there's somebody I hadn't thought about in years

A couple years ago Steely Dan had a stand at the Beacon where they did one whole album plus hits each night.  Our night was The Royal Scam.  My wife wasn't too thrilled but I knew it and liked it.  Still, my favorite is and always will be Can't Buy a Thrill.  My friend and I got it on one of those 10 albums for a buck subscription come-ons.  We had no idea what we were getting by the time we got to 10.  Another album we got was this.
Highway Star

A little Top for seasoning

Machine Head is a great album no doubt about it, just so brutally overplayed. However, the less played ones kick so much ass. I love Maybe I'm a Leo and Lazy.

Yeah my parents tell me that at the time of it's release, you almost couldn't go somewhere without someone playing that album, or at least knowing somebody who owns it. It was huge at that time.

I kept forgetting to listen to Fagen's new stuff. I've heard people say his most recent album was real good, and it's already sounding like it. Thanks sir.

Both excellent.  Do you know Nick Cave?

One of the greatest evocations of obsessive love and bereftness
