People being arrested

I live in Duvall Washington, where blueringers are picked frequently.

In the past 2 weeks I have heard of atleast 4 people being arrested for possesing psyilosybin mushrooms (freshly picked). I know you can get a fine for trespassing, but being arrested for possesion of mushrooms is rediculous, and to my knowlege is illegal.

What if I picked non-acitive mushrooms? The cops couldn't tell the difference. The cops just don't have enough real crime to fight so they pick on all of the mushroom pickers.

Florida is the only state that has a court case setting precident for freshly picked mushrooms, Fiske vs. the State. After this court ruling, freshly picked, unidentified mushrooms could not be considered a container of psilocybin. When I go hunting, I usually pick a variety of species....that way if I get busted it would be easy for me to prove I did not know I was carrying psyilocybin containing mushrooms.
Now you live in Washington, so this court case does not apply to you. Possesion of any mushroom containing psilocybin, whatever the circumstances, is illegal. However, I would suggest you pick a variety of species and use the unidentified mushroom story, if you got a lawyer I could see the possibility of you getting off....don't count on it though. It'd definatly be better than just saying, yes these are hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Yeah dude, have a story ready before you go out there. Say you're doing it for a certain class with this teacher, it's due this day, and this is what you have to do, etc. And pick MOSTLY other types of mushrooms with a few psylocybins in there. And put the psylocybins on the bottom. Could be very easy to play dumb. BUT...don't wear your tie-dye Greatful Dead shirt out to the field to pick shrooms. That'd be a stupid idea.

Another idea to help - join a local Mycological society and have the membership card handy. If you have that, and a number of different types of mushies and don't look too "off" (tie die, long hair, pierced everything, - things that set cops to sniffing) they are often fairly cool.
I have been asked if any of the mushrooms are psylocybes and I say I don't know, I suppose some could be. In each case the cops seemed to have appreciated the honest answer (though did not get the other honest answer - I sure hope so!).
Myco society is cool anyway - some have growing groups that help teach methods for cloning, etc of edible ones. Good knowledge to have.
