whats the deal with Alchemy?

Hello,

May I please ask from your personal opinion and experience, how does Alchemy honestly effect you, and are there real secretes or something?.

I ask this because, well I just don't want to be ripped off, if it Alchemy itself is a scam.

Example below::: (THIS IS NOT REGARDING Alchemy, But to show how some people may use Alchemy as if it were real when it may be a load of poo poo).

As you can see, if you watched his "videos" you would honestly think he was real, such as using natural lithium (smaller dosages) than real lithium medication for example.

Clearly, you can see its a load of crap. And he makes millions of dollars a year.

My point/question is: Does Alchemy truly have something worthwhile to it, or is it a load of poo poo???

Alchemy has lengthy histories in Europe, but much much earlier histories in Arabia, India, China and Egypt. Bullshit abounds among those people who have no real understanding about the actual practices, both spiritual and laboratory, or are confused by 'puffers' (the ignorant who simply want to make money through transformations that they could never achieve). Today we have those who talk about ORMUS or Monoatomic Gold as if it is the key to understanding the meaning of alchemy. There is the attempt to turn Lead, or Antimony into Gold by non-nuclear means. Alchemy, both plant and mineral, is not primitive chemistry. Neither is plant alchemy (spagyrics) the same as homeopathy (which you allude to as using tiny amounts of a substance.

There are well known teachers of alchemy today, and those who were these teacher's teachers: Mark Stavish, Robert Allen Bartlett, William Dennis Hauck, the late Manfred Junius, Frater Albertus, and Israel Regardi, Fulcanelli, and others. There is the legendary Nicholas Flamel, fictionalized in the first Harry Potter book (and his wife Perenelle Flamel).

There are some excellent books about what alchemy is and is not, and some of the things described will no doubt cause you disbelief, to which the proponents of alchemy will tell you to experiment for yourself, such as multiple distillations of plain water into Earth of Water, Water of Water, Air of Water, and Fire of Water, and noting the differing tastes and freezing points. These things are disregarded by physical chemistry, because alchemy investigates hidden or occult properties in matter to discover spiritual or astral aspects intermingled with scientifically empirical physical aspects. There are additional bodies of knowledge that have long been around to describe variables that have to do with psychospiritual and psychocosmic aspects of reality, not merely the physical. Astrology and Qabalah are two of the three bodies of knowledge that alchemy is involved with. The inner state of of the alchemist 'matters' in alchemical experiments, whereas it does not 'matter' in chemistry where under the same conditions S.T.P., the same results can be replicated. Not so in alchemy because consciousness is involved.
