So what?

I have to say, all the Texans I met were very polite and friendly. Many (especially in Houston) were also very stereotypically Texan haha.
But yeah - your laws are kind of fucked up..

So says a Canadian who supports speech police.  What laws are you referring you to as fucked up in Texas?

Absolute waste of time and taxpayers money.

It's been proven that it doesn't work in pretty much 100% of cases.

What's next? Tying bricks to women and throwing them in a lake to see if they are witches?

I'd rather give them both.

So what?

A.) Counselling is not effective and neither is it "legitimate".

B.) Homosexuality is not an injury or disease, you don't heal from it. To say that becoming non-homosexual is healing shows the inherent discrimination of the people proposing this policy.

Seriously?

This implies that homosexuality is a (bad) choice, and that sexual prefferences can be "fixed" through therapy. In reality they are only being conditioned to suppress their true identity and are forced to miserably live in conformity with society for the rest of their time.
The implications of publicly condemning Homosexuals reaches beyond the LGBT community. It tells us that mob rule can succeed when politicians and constituents are worked into such a fervor that they pass reactive legislation involving the government in the consensual activities of adults occurring behind closed doors.

The government's obsession with constraining homosexuality is fallacious and perverse,
as well as a huge misallocation of taxpayer funds.

Also, fuck the Texas haters  :randysavage:

Are you Texan? What city if you don't mind me asking? I was in Houston and Austin last week..
Austin seems more liberal than Houston but that isn't saying much.

it's really a few politicians, the majority are OK but that handful on
both side of the aisle are just complete retards, you have to wonder hwo
the fuck they go elected, are their constituents really that dumb?

Georgia has  Cynthia McKinney and Hank Johnson, they're liberals but you
dont normally hear much about their stupid statements because they're
liberals, let a conservative say or do something stupid and it's in the
news for weeks. it's distraction tactics, in this case it's to draw your
eyes away from such scandals as the Veteran's Administration.

I love this guy

Obamacare, the Patriot Act and probably a thousand other stupid pieces of
legislation also tells us that, in reality, isnt this what a democracy is,
the same democracy that liberals tout as being the way things should be?

now, is there something in this legislation that forces gays into therapy or
is this just another piece of retardation from lawmakers that does nothing,
except maybe force insurance companies to pay for psychiatric care for gay
people if they want it... are you opposed to making insurance companies pay?

See how welcoming and open-minded the Republicans of Texas are?  Brings me to tears to think that my beloved NY could one day be so accepting of the Other.
