Traveling to Montreal

Hey,

I might be heading up to Montreal Canada for a few days. Im planning a trip with my family and lookin at panama, costa rica, montreal, and other places in the 300$ ticket roundtrip price range.

RIght now the family is leaning towards montreal,
anyone been there or live there/in Canada?

How is it? What are some good things to do? Nature access and mountains closeby?



Any festivals or shows going on in the upcoming weeks?

Go to La Ronde (amusement park)

There's always a festival of some sort in Montreal.

I strongly suggest you go to a bar called the 281. You will love it!

Costa Rica is a blast. Only did Arenal and Manuel Antonio though... Arenal has awesome ziplining (some of the best in the world)/nature hikes. Manuel Antonio is great for fishing/seafood/hiking/chilling on the beach. You can pre-book shuttles to travel if you don't want to rent a car. Food is pretty much the same all over, but cheaper if you buy stuff at the markets. Always ask cab drivers to turn on the meters. Do not get in the middle of the monkey troupes.

Don't go to La Ronde.  It's just an amusement park and it's not even a great one.  You can go to those anywhere.

Every Sunday there is the Tam Tams at Mont Royal Park which is cool.  People hang out and drink / smoke in the park.  There's usually a big drum circle with ~50 people and ~100 people LARPing.  It's pretty cool.

There's also Picnique Electronique every Sunday which is a blast at Jean-Drapeau Park.

There's tons and tons of great restaurants and Montreal has a great culture around dinner.  You can find late night menus at a lot of restaurants that start around 9-9:30.  You can go to some great places and get a meal and an app for ~$25.

Those are a few suggestions, there's lots to do in Montreal

Why would you travel to an amazing city to go to a generic amusement park when there are so many awesome and unique things you can do in Mtl?

I appreciate the La ronde suggestion but I live in the amusement capital of the world. The Xtarium's and botanical gardens are more up my ally. I was reading about the botanical gardens, it sounds really nice. Acres of zen.


I like weird unique crazy things, music, nature, good food, all that jazz.
