math is a logos - or symbolic study - of quantity and ratio. logic is a logos of  reasoning and argumentation. it's premises instead of numbers. they're both "logical" because they use images that symbolize aspects of reality (logoi), but they are not the same. they're separate subjects because the subject matter is different in each case. hence why logic is peeling off from philosophy into its own field rather than becoming part of mathematics.

I view math as a subset of logic.  There is a blurry line in between the two labels.  But each revolve around systems and theorems derived under axioms and postulates.  All math operates under axioms and has resulting theorems and thus I think its safe to say that all math is logic.

To be completely fair, the economy still is really bad, and the job market is even worse.

Before I found my $10/hour supervisor job, I was making min wage at stupid subway. Fuck subway.

Seriously, I was LUCKY to have found the job I have now, as they are no longer hiring. You really need to fill out those applications as soon as possible. You are playing a numbers game and luck game when looking for a job.

Good luck in everything.

And most important, don't let this job thing get you depressed. It's really easy in this fucking job market to get discouraged. Don't...just keep looking for something better.

i can definitely see your view. i was just pointing out that formally they are two different fields of study.

How about "academically" they are two fields of study?

I make the same stink when people in the physics department (my major) talk crap about philosophy.  Formally, I claim that physics and all science is a philosophy.  Academically, they are separate subjects.

I just got a job offer for double what I was currently making, working in my field about an hour ago.

This position could pay up to 150k a year eventually.

It's sad that a supervisor in the states makes less than what is minimum wage in canada.

I am leaving a management job for a much higher paying job in my field.

Pretty happy about this. My wife and I both make a lot now so we will be doing extremely well financially from now on.

In our cases our education really paid off in terms of careers.

Wishing you all the best  In your careers!

What's sadder is that so many aren't worth the minimum.

What's sadder still is that there even is a minimum.

The pay scale for my classification as an employee is 50-150k a year.

So I am at the entry level of that scale.

I am aware it's a far way from 150k but that is the upper end of my pay scale for this position.

27.50 an hour is fantastic as far as I am concerned. My management position that I am leaving paid 15 an hour.

Dude, you're working and that's a lot more than a lot of people can say.
Don't worry about it, keep your head high, and never stop trying to move forward!
Minimum wage is degrading, I know all about it, but at least it's going up to $11 soon. lol

That's to OP.

Not so much.

http://www.gizmag.com/hamburger-machine/25159/

"According to Momentum Machines, making burgers costs US$9 billion a year in wages in the United States alone. The company points out that a machine that could make burgers with minimum human intervention would not only provide huge savings in labor costs, but would also reduce preparation space with a burger kitchen replaced by a much smaller and cheaper stainless-steel box."
