I really like the libertarian way, Ron Paul!!
Especially for the federal government.  And each state there own.

I live in Canada, the federal government should more libertarian, and each province should control the way they want.

But well, I'm a fucking separatist that want a free Québec!

You mentioned 'organized' in the context that society needs government to control people and companies.  I'm just pointed out one of the ways Big Government keeps society organized.

To bad you will have folks like patlal who will want to force Quebec to remain part of Canada even though culturally they really should be an independent nation. Vive la république du Québec!

Just like people who drink to many sugary drinks don't understand how much they are hurting themselves--don't worry, Big Daddy knows best.

IMO Catholicism has little to do with the cultural differences between Quebec and the rest of Canada. Only about half of Canadians who are baptized Catholic live in Quebec, and altogether baptized Catholics make up nearly 40% of Canada's population. Not all of those people actually practice the religion, but culturally a fuck of a lot of Canadians have a Catholic background.

Aside from all that, over half of Quebecers didn't want to separate in every referendum they did. Even if it was a little less than half who opposed it, why should the separatists be able to impose something that major on the still-large number of people who don't want it? Sorry guys, you now live in a different country because that's what about half of the people here wanted.

I think its the rest of Canada that can't afford to lose Québec!
but I agree that its not the right time, someday maybe.

Before Harper, almost all the prime ministers of Canada were Quebecers! lol!

Nobody gives a shit about religion in Quebec. They are trying make laws to eliminate it. I don't think anybody gives a shit in rest of canada either.

The difference is cultural. Quebecers love comedy, cinema, theatre, festivals, arts, music a lot more than the rest of the country. That's what makes them so different.

Then there's little old me. Living right on the fence. I can appreciate 100% of the Canadian culture + the American one.

It is extremely sad that the rest of Canada can't appreciate quebec's stand up comics. They are some much better the english ones. Louis CK is just ok compared to them
