Vasectomy

Has anybody here had a vasectomy?  Experiences are welcomed and appreciated.  I'm thinking of getting it done because I don't want to have kids (for sure) and want my partner to be able to quit birth control for a bunch of reasons.

I have a friend that wanted one and they wouldn't give it to him because he wasn't 30 and had no children so you may want to see if you can even find a doctor that will do it first... just saying

I'm 34 and have insurance.  It's covered and the only thing I have to do is attend a class which is a little drive away.

I had mine done at 27 with no real questions asked. With insurance I paid ~$250. I have 3 kids but I don't remember them even asking about it.

Best decision of my life.

I had it done at 24, and I was single with no kids.  Best $5 I ever spent, and I'm sure it's gotten me out of lots of pickles.

Just be sure to follow the doctor's post-op instructions.  I didn't, and my balls swelled to the size of a cantaloupe.

i have a date confirmed for the summer.  Probably going to do it but I'm pretty squeamish about any type of surgery, especially on my nuts.

Unless you don't want children.  Also, it's not entirely for sure, but most vasectomies are reversible.

The surgery is easy, recovery was difficult for me. (My friends had no issues though.) If you get it done, get some good painkillers prescribed just in case. My doc gave me Darvocet which didn't touch my pain. A quick raid into the medicine cabinet resulted in some old Vicodin and a pain free weekend.

Wear your jock strap religiously and get ready to beat off a ton. It took me 5 times to pass my test after the surgery was done. (To take a 'test' you had to have at least 12 ejaculations in 14 days.)

Best thing ever though for my wife and I.

Under obamacare females get their very costly tubal 100% covered by insurance but the equivalent procedure for a man does not have to be covered. It's ok to discriminate against men though.
