Yeah, I mean even if they lost it wouldnt have mattered much, would have been locked into a 3 seed. But a win tomorrow should guarantee a 2 seed at worst and as you said, if we can somehow pull throw the Big10 tourney I think we could get the last #1 seed

Although I dont really see much advantage at this point between a 1 or a 2 seed, it's all going to come down to matchups

And I think they'd rather have a 2 seed and get the Midwest bracket group than a 1 seed and play further away from home

Unfortunately Michigan is going to be on upset alert no matter who they play in the NCAA just because of their lack of size

I agree 100%. I just think it would have been embarrassing to be the top seed in the conference tourney and then bail out in your first game. But man, as touched on earlier in this thread -- there's so much parity out there that like you said, UM, along with a host of other ranked teams out there, will be on upset alert all dance long. Hell it took Duke 2 last second free throws to avoid losing their first conf tourney game as well.

I think this year more than any we're going to see brackets get absolutely slaughtered with upsets.

I dont remember an NCAA tournament ever being so wide open as it is this year

I think Florida is the best team in the country but behind them you have about 20 teams all about the same level

I still dont know where I put Witchita State though. I mean they are unbeaten and went to the Final 4 last season so you have to take them seriously, but at the same time, they havent really played any good teams this year so it is hard to put them as a serious contender

Cant wait for the dance to start

And cant wait for that Buckeye game tomorrow at 1:40pm. Me and the lady going to go watch it at Damons

I've gotta fucking work an 18 hour day tomorrow. 14 of those hours will be in a bar, but I won't really have much chance to watch more than glancing up at the TV while I work. So much basketball I want to watch that I won't get to.

Credit to the Buckeyes, those bastards wouldn't go away. Michigan had them on the ropes twice; 16 pt lead in the first half and 13 pt lead in the second half, but they kept coming back.

If Mich wins tomorrow they'll be pretty close to a lock for the final 1 seed.

Michigan really played a shitty game against MSU... both our big men getting into foul trouble in the first 2 minutes of the game hurt us but MSU is just getting better and better and could very well win the whole thing this year

Michigan will be a #2 seed  and we got Wofford for our first game... then we could very well end up playing ASU in the 2nd round which could be an interesting game since ASU has a very good center and a couple solid scoring guards in Carson and Marshall

Cant wait to fill out my brackets. Will probably do 2-3 of them this year

Lol dude that's pretty crazy how that might work out for you (Michigan and ASU playing each other) :lol:

But honestly I think the strength of that region has doomed Michigan. They really needed a fortunate path to have a shot at getting back to the FF, but with Duke awaiting them in the sweet 16 (assuming Michigan can get that far), that's probably as far as they'll get. Duke's certainly not some unbeatable juggernaut but I still think they beat Michigan. :shrug:

Fun season, Picklez. Heart breaker to Kentucky, but what can ya do. Michigan played terrific offensively but when Kentucky is hitting their shots like that (in addition to absolutely beasting down low), it's almost impossible to win.

But getting to the championship game last year and then a single bucket away from a final four this year -- not too shabby.

Yeah Kentucky beat us with size, the same thing they used to beat Louisville and Witchita State.. their ability to offensive rebound and score in the post is crazy. I cant even remember how many offensive rebounds they had that were dunks. That killed us.

But I agree, weve had 2 solid seasons and Michigan basketball seems to be on the rise in terms of recruiting and sustaining a quality program. Will be interesting to see if Staukas comes backs or not, losing Morgan will hurt but getting a healthy McGary and hopefully developing Walton and Irvin will make for a solid team next season

Not really impressed with the recruiting class, would have liked a couple more top tier players but Chatman reminds me a lot of Glenn Robinson III and Ricky Doyle has good size on him if he can develop into a scorer.

Here's Ricky Doyle who is a big body Center who lacks height but is thick and can score (kinda like McGary but a better shooter)

We really need McGary & GR3 at minimum to return. Stauskas will probably leave because he's a first round lock with a high stock (Big Ten player of the year, national player of the year finalist), but Glenn & McGary are both probable 2nd round picks at this point. McGary's stock was temporarily set back due to the injury (although he can get it back quickly with a strong junior season), and with Stauskas likely gone, Glenn will have the opportunity to really step up his role this next season and be the man. Well at least on the perimeter that is.

Walton, Zak Irvin, Lavert, GR3, and McGary is a nice starting five to work with.
