So dont be mad at Romo because he is a consistent fuckup?

That was seriously the worst I have ever seen him play in a 4th quarter. That was way worse than the fumbled snap. A fumbled snap can happen to anyone, especially in a playoff situation like that. But the way he played that entire 4th quarter was just awful.

It's not like this is an office pool or something, and I don't think you're a Dallas fan, so get mad at him if you want because of the games you picked but I enjoy seeing him completely ruin a football game, in ways that are rare at that level. And I don't like Dallas even though I picked them but if I bet on it I would want to throttle him.:shrug:

I have been a Dallas fan since I was 7 years old. They were the first sports team I even knew about.

My mistake, I thought you would be a Browns fan.  Didn't mean to rub salt into a wound.  But Romo still makes me laugh just thinking about him and some of his games.

It's cool. It's Wednesday, I have had time to recover from the loss.

I like the Browns and the Bengals but Cowboys are my favorite sports team.

I dunno man, I can feel their SuperBowl hangover coming.



I've watched this team closely for many, many years.  You can tell when they underachieve.


The Steelers ALWAYS underachieve after a season of success.  And they ALWAYS overachieve after dissapointing seasons.


2005 Super Bowl win

2006 Miss the Playoffs

2007 Started off hot, big decline in the second half of the season, early and really bad upset lost during the playoffs.

2008 Super Bowl win

2009 Miss the playoffs, really bad season with losses to really bad teams (KC, Raiders, Browns, swept by the Bengals)

2010 Super Bowl run and loss.  But I still consider that a madly successfull reason.


2011....will probably either miss the playoffs, or barely get in and lose.

Yes, but other teams have been able to overcome their own success.  Though winning back to back Super Bowl championships is a rare feat, it has been done several times within our lifetimes even. 

So do you think there is something specific about the Steelers that makes the "success as a threat to ambition" paradigm particularly resonant?
