Nahh, I doubt they're making a profit of it. Then its commercial. Otherwise its something we have to live with.How do those adds work, do you guys get money for just posting them, or do people need to click them occasionally?

Oh I'm not concerned about them making profits. If they are, excellent. If not, sorry. I'm more interested in the fact that the pages with 2/3 banners on them take up 1/2 the viewrange when i open the pages. Nobody wants that.  kake

We've got banners because we've got expenses. Ads are the best way for us to recieve income to cover these expenses. All efforts are taken to keep them relatively unobtrusive, but sometimes they get in the way, but that's the way the world works. The only pages I know of that have 2 banners on them are in the Culvation forum and the main page. The cultivation forum has 2 banners because it's one of the most popular forums and we want to put the commercial banners and because spore provider banners are best placed there. The main page has 2 banners because the commercial banners are good for us and because the Hunger Site, the other banner, is for a damn good cause. Later.------------------

OK let me put it this way. You've all seen those giant coupon books before right? The ones you buy for 10$ to get tons of coupons for local businesses in the community. They're used to KEEP business strong in the local area rather than putting money into other foreign services. Well I think the same should apply here.I'm 100% agreeing for the idea that the Shroomery needs income, I understand that websites do cost expenses, etc. I support the spores/supplies advertisement banners because of the same reason I stated in the beginning. It keeps an equilibrium of capital from the Shroomery's online community IN this community rather than going to large corporate sponsors. Let's help out these small businesses that are hard at work to serve our 'Shroomerites', and cut out the "Free iNet" and other garbage that none of us want to see. just my voice on the matter.

kake, my understanding of the matter is that the shroomery can not at this time make enough revenu to be self supporting with just spore supplier banners and such. I dont have a problem with the other banners, i meen hell, anything that helps the shroomery out in any way is cool beans with me.
