About to hit the road in a van.
    #19699541 -

So, in about a week I will be purchasing a 1987 Ford 350 Econoline van. Everything runs great, brand new tires, shifts fine, all that jazz.

(this is not the exact van I am purchasing, just a picture of a 1987 Econoline)

Only problem is the back passenger-side slider window is broken/missing.

My girlfriend, two beautiful rats, and I will all be piling into this van and leaving this little middle-of-nowhere town out in Colorado.

The plan is to head towards Denver, either to Denver or a surrounding city for settlement.

We have tickets to a Shpongle show at Red Rocks in Morrison CO at the beginning of May, so that I believe will be our first destination. Then, we need to high tail it back to MA for the end of May for a music festival known as Strangecreek. After Creek, the plan is to head back to Denver and get a place.

We feel like the city will have a lot more to offer for a young couple like us. This little town has kept us rotting in our dwelling, surrounded by really bad/weird energy.

Fun fact: I'm terrified of driving due to a traumatic accident, however I must face my fears and learn if I wish to save the well-being of my family. Any of you guys have anything motivational to say on the subject? I'm scared shitless, and on top of that, I'll be driving half way across the damn country nearly my first time really on the road.

It's going to be a hell of a ride.

Have fun man. Sounds like a great time. Don't sweat the driving man...can't spend your time worrying about something that might not happen (and most likely won't)

You're right. Thanks, man.
I know. I really have to get over this psychological-hump that I have so carefully built in front of myself. I have no option, really.

try meditating on it for a while by yourself. meditation helped me get over a lot of erroneous fears and beliefs when i was dealing with anxiety. everyone finds their own flavor that works, but a lot of my fears had to do with injury/death as well. I came to a realization that I am gonna live and die regardless of how i choose to feel. there is nothing that can save us from death, so just enjoy life while its here to be enjoyed.

then it gets a lot deeper if you keep pursuing those thoughts, but thats a good starting point. worked for me anyways

Good luck!!!! I made the same decision years ago and I never regretted it. I lived in a tiny town where everyone knew my name and finally made the decision to pack up my van which I affectionately referred to as the Space Shuttle and moved across the country a few times. It was so amazing. The experience really helped me to let go of a lot of fears and just enjoy the adventure.

And SHPONGLE! Awesome. I hear Red Rocks is a really cool venue so that's exciting. That's a great way to start your journey on the right foot.

Nice van, too. I like the Econolines. Mine was a 97 Dodge Ram Conversion van with a high top. It's dead now. If I have some time later maybe I'll find a picture to share.

Keep us posted and have a great adventure  :awethumb:

Thanks, man! I am really excited about it too, as it will be the Shpongle Orchestra (full band) rather than them just spinning a playlist. It should be rather interesting. I saw Infected Mushroom last year (or the year before) at Escape From Wonderland in California. Great show.

Thanks, man. I have been trying to do more of this as of recently. I have been doing some small sessions before bed and what not, as well as placing some black tourmaline and quartz under my pillow. I will bring what you have said to mind when I am in session tonight. Thank you, seriously.

Thanks, man! I will be sure to keep you all posted every step of the way. (this post will likely turn into my travel log)

It is so great to hear of others who have done this. Your words give me great hope for a better tomorrow.

Pictures of the actual van, wonderful missing window and all, are soon to come! Thanks for all of the good words and support guys, I think I really needed it.

they do look sweeter than I had imagined. don't let some wild big balled male rat sneak into your van while you're sleeping. those girls would be traumatized. I travelled with chinchillas when I was younger, but now it's all cats and dog.

cool! I had a 95 Plymouth voyager minivan and that was the best vehicle/tent/travel thing ever! A twin size blow up mat fit exactly in the back with no seats. I took it to bonaroo in 2005 and had a 10x10 p[op up tent. I put it up just over the back and that was my seating area with 3 walls zipped around it, it was so fucking perfect.

It rained overnight one night and the next morning I heard moans and groans of "fuck, my sleeping bag is soaked!" etc...have a fun and safe journey! People laugh at the minivan but it is one of the most convenient vehicles for a lot of things.:grin:
