Is this cover art good?

This is just a random design for an inlay of the album cover- the front and back are more detailed pics, but i thought id post this for some honest feedback.
Its not finished and i made it in five minutes - not sure if it has merit or not:

Is it your album? Your own music i mean? If so it looks close enough for Rock and or Roll music. Should be great when its finished.

Thanks guys - i was hoping to test it by printing it out on a proper printer and seeing how the quality turned out.
The style is sort of between cocteau twins and pink floyd - with a bit of the old the cult dreamtime and led zep folk in for good measure. Ive been working on it solidly since about feb this year and im hoping to finish it by 31 oct.
I will be selling copies for $7 including postage and ill post the details soon.
The pic is actually just copies of my ganesh picture that are wobbled by a ripple effect a few times.
Stefan is right - a nice very light blue for the white will go nicely.

That sounds like an interestin' mix. I was always a big fan of the Cocteau Twins. The harmony work was truly amazin' on most tracks.
Is this goin' to be for general release? If so congratulations.

don't you want to add a little more then just ps filters? add a few layers of random photos and overlay them and throw in some texture. All it is is the same thing multiplied a few times and a font thrown on top, something like the stuff I used to make. I always find the levels, contrast, and saturation settings fun to play with when you want to throw in some more variety.

It's a very cool psychedelic image, but it could use something more I'd say.

Cheers. It wasnt PS, but it is a similar program. As i have no experience with graphic art ive know idea what i am doing. I had a couple of guys working on the cover for me, but they keep dissappearing and ive given up.
When you say layers of different images or overlaying can you explain how this is done?
I prefer the font below - is the font ok, or to common??
All the feedback is much appreciated - im a musician not an artist so I dont really know what im doing

IT looks kinda confusing. make a picture albumn size and post it to get a better view of it.

Oh, well, without PS i don't think you'll have layers and overlaying options. Repetition in an image can kill it though, and the ripple thing looks n00bish when left as just a plain ripple. The part that bothers me is how boxlike it looks. If it were truly psychedelic it would be a warped shapeless object.

It's good stuff, but to someone whose taught themselves graphic design it looks like its just some image warped, repeated, warped repeated and repeated again. What program are you using? I don't want to sound like a warezhound, but you can find the newest versions of photoshop on kazaa and photoshop is the industry standard. Once you learn a few basic tricks you can make some awesome images.

Thanks for the feedback its - photo plus 4.
Ive worked out how to merge images now, and i came up with this. Ive smudged out the titles and stuff, so ignore that part, but the image i think worked out nicely. Its just a preview.
Its a bit dark, but if you click on it to enlarge its better:

yeah mate i like that one, a bit more mystical and shit. i reckon itd look nice if you could darken, or somehow bring out that texture on the ring around ganesh, without it looking like a dodgy emboss... (idunno?)

can ya post a version with the ganesh layer taken out?
