What do light caps mean?? Help me??

I have a larger rubber terrarium with really damp perlite 4 inches thick on the bottom and doing air exchange every 4 hours for 15 minutes with a coolmist.  Light on for 12, light off for 12. 

I have light caps. 

Is there anything I should be doing differently?  My few pins that I have look puny and pasty and the cakes don't seem to be too happy. 

I'm at a lost.  I'm ---> this <--- close to saying fuck it and getting what I need to make a poor man's pod. I'm worried that humidity isn't high enough or something. 

Any help???  I'm worried about my mushy babies.  :frown:

Howl ight are your caps. It just may be the strain. Go and make the poor mans pod by all means. It is really cool and you won't have to fan anymore. Also you can't expect all too much from cakes.

IT's my opinion thatrelatively light caps has to do with nutrition. A friend has noticed when he has two jars from the same jar (grain transfers) and he cases one, but uses the other as spawn for poo/compost that the compost shrooms have darker caps

They're sort of a light pink pastel color...and are Lipa Yai strain.  I'm so fed up with perlite and coolmist that I could scream.  As soon as I have the money I will probably go Poor man's pod, but right now I have to save my little mushies before its too late.  :frown:

The cakes are PF style BRF and I've had no trouble with lack of nutrients in the past.  :frown:

...Umm all you need is 2 fish pumps (maybe 1 depending on size of container), the tubing for them, and air stones. Also the container of course.

ive found that lipa yai's have somewhat small fruits and much lighter than average colored caps to begin with.

one of the least favorite strains ive ever grown, and when they first came out they were rumored to be so badass; but LY's are nothing special in my book.

Yeah, but I have to get geolite, and doesn't that cost about $30 a bag?  I'm seriously broke until next month either way. 

I just hope to see some healthy pins from my golden teachers here in a few days.  :tongue:

No you can use perlite. It doesn't pump out as much humidity and is a bit more messy (but you're used to it) but it is very useable.

I know where you're comin from!
I too was facing the same delima. You can use the fish pump and air stone with the perlite in a pinch to get this flush out healthy. I used that setup for a while till I had enough dough to get the geolite. The only thing you have to remember is the airstones will weasle their way out from under the perlite, just keep an eye on em.  Don't be discouraged, try a different strain, and by all means be happy you can grow even small pale mushies! Some people can't even get that far!! :cool:

perlite and a cool mist? is it neccissary to use both? i dont think so... get rid of one of em... hehe
and btw wtf are people gettin fed up with perlite... its sooo low maitanence, its like easier than a fuckin cool mist... id rather use perlite any day...
It aint THAT messy... and u only need to put more water in it every month or so lol, and use the perlite over and over again... easy shit... get a cup, get perlite, put perlite in cup, put water and h2o2 in cup of perlite, how fuckin hard is that? easier than rigging up a humidifying system

Afoaf had a light cap or two pop up on some south african brf cakes. At harvest one had turned into a rosecomb, the other one's still growing.

its where the cap pinches itself togethr kinda, its a mutation. you can see the gills from the top of the cap in one area its wierd.

like babies born with 2 thumbs kinda
