I have no problem with the poor I just believe that having a strong free market economy is the best way to help them not handouts. And when I make a decent wage one day I will willingly donate to causes I support.

What kind of causes would allow you to help the poor without giving them what you would deem "a handout" as you say?

I mean, do you consider food a handout? Food should be a right, no American should ever have to go hungry.

I am mostly referring to monetary handouts yea food should be given freely a great amount of it is wasted.

One persons "right" can not be paid for at another persons expense.

Do you consider having firefighters a right? How about clean running water? How about public schools? How about paved roads? These were all paid for by other people before you ever came into this world.

We essentially live in a theocracy with puritanical laws such as those which go into prohibition, a movement which has its basis in christian values and costs wealth everywhere from the prison system to law enforcement. That's aside from any moral or ethical concerns since those concepts don't seem to apply in this world.

Yet the monetary elite hoard resources which could otherwise feed others, and they have a "right" to do so.

None of the things you listed are a right.

I'll phrase it differently.

You can not perform a moral act by performing an immoral one.

None of these are rights. They are privileges. If they are rights, why doesn't everyone in the world have them? I think the issue is kindness. Everyone has the mentality of being out for themselves, fuck everyone else.

Earned, corrupt politicians take bribes and give illegal incentives to wealthy businessmen. People abuse the system and steal, exploit and cheat.

If your concept of earning is stealing, then there's nothing wrong with taking back the wealth that was stolen through force political or physical. Irregardless of opposing opinions one should watch for their survival. Personally I blame the masses for stratification and not the elite, due to their passivity.

Not when you have god on the dollar bill, swearing on bibles in court, anti-abortion laws based on religious sentiment, anti-drug laws based on religious sentiment, anti-gay marriage laws based on religious sentiment. How many American presidents were not christian?

So, if I start a slave factory in China where I imprison thousands of workers and pay them practically nothing, and then end up making multi-billions of dollars selling those goods overseas in Europe and America, I earned it, and taking that money from me to help some of the poor people I exploited in the first place, is definitely what's really immoral here. :flowstone:

Yes, but you have never run for office. You are among students, at a university.

I mean, how many times was Obama called a MUSLIM when he first ran for office? And he wasn't even a Muslim, he was just a Christian black guy! Imagine how obliterated the atheist will be when he runs for platform.

I think you're kidding yourself.

Quote:
The study detailed Americans' deep and broad religiosity, finding that 92 percent believe in God or a universal spirit -- including one in five of those who call themselves atheists. More than half of Americans polled pray at least once a day.
