so aperantly in Vanuatu the traditional way of grinding kava is to let the virgins chew on them and then spit them out.

I just got a a few days ago too :sun:


i used room temperature water it was pretty cold to the touch.

i got pretty silly laughing w/ my ladyfriend and I felt very little anxiety about, well, anything.

I didn't really get "fucked up" but it was like a mild benzo.

  tonight i'm adding more :sun:

In the Pacific they only use room ambient temp water (around 80ºF). Sometimes its later chilled before drinking, but only if they are preparing it in advance (i.e. a few hours prior to consumption).

This is on Tanna Island, but not too common anymore. I've seen it happen back in 1999, but was too grossed out to touch the stuff.

adding a full cup this time  like the instructions say.  last time i guess i only used 3 spoonfulls i thought it would be a cup i was way off :lol:

but it doesn't feel... "artificial" like coke, alcohol, benzos etc.


I can just legitimately see that what I worry about most of the time isn't a big deal :sun:

There's a kava festival going on at the university here on Saturday, that I'm considering checking out. I'm hoping I can find a source for the fresh roots (which I've heard are more potent and taste much better), or maybe I'll just buy my own plant.

Edit: If you are considering buying it, make sure not to buy too much at first. I didn't mind the taste the first couple of times, but now I can't even stand the smell of it without gagging violently. I tried to give the rest of my kava away to a friend who had tried some of it before (and liked it), but he had the same reaction I did :sad:

Really? Since how long has that been the case?

I declared about 200g of dried kava at customs a few months ago no worries, and years ago I'd occasionally go to a kava bar in Adelaide where they went through a shiteload of kava every night.

Yeah, 200g would be fine. Not sure about the kava bar - perhaps you could import it for commercial purposes back then.. *shrug*

My two 3-tablespoon kava sessions have been decent. Second one was with weed - went pretty well together. It still feels quite mild to me but it's probably the most potent 'herbal'/legal high I've experienced. Will be using it more as I try to up my meditation habit and get away from the PC.
