need a new fantasy novel series

#18889292 - 09/25/13 03:24 PM (13 years, 26 days ago)

so i recently have grown tired of (and read most of)
the warhammer fantasy novels
warhammer 40k
forgotten realms (haven't read the newer stuff, is it any good?)
dragonlance

bernard cornwells stuff (not quite fantasy but it's close)

any nerds out there have a relatively mature quality fantasy novels/series please share them

GOT falls under the fantasy genre I believe, and it's really good.

Try The Dragonbone Chair. Tad Williams. Incredible story to say the least.

I agree with Synthe. I just started the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series and it's amazing. I was hooked after the prologue.

How far did you get?
I thought it got pretty lousy around book 5.

I heard that pretty much any book from Terry Pratchett is great.

Yeah the first 3 Sword of Truth novels I really enjoyed.
I especially liked the inverted imagery, the villain lives in an all white castle, etc, etc.

it's more along sci fi lines, but terry pratchett's "long earth" series has been treating me right lately.

Dean Koontz is another awesome fantasy/sci fi author. I've read quite a few of his novels and am rarely disappointed. If your looking for a series he does a good take on Frankenstein.
