Does Vermiculite = Perlite ?

Im just wondering if perlite is a good substitute for vermiculite? i already found some horticulture vermiculite but i saw some perlite and they both look pretty similar. is there a difference in them ??

The look similar? Nah, look again, they're defenitely different. Also, perlite is not a good substitute for vermiculite, especially in substrate mixes. I suppose you could use vermiculite instead of perlite for terrarium humidification, but especially for first time growers I strongly recommend to follow the TEKs to the letter. Use verm when it says verm, and perlite when it says perlite, that's my advice.
