Stay away from big cities, find a chunk of land where you can grow your pot with a licence. Somewhere not to far that you can't hit up a good festival in a car for your other non growable substances. Close to a disc golf course would't hurt either. Don't look like a dirty hippie or a gutter punk and keep the "bad cop no doughnut" sticker of your bumper. Most importantly don't be a dumbass, basically talking to much.

The states are not that bad.

The states are becoming progressively worse. We've lost pretty much all our rights with the patriot act and we all know how easy it is to be called a terrorist these days. We've lost other rights as well. Now the President can hold you indefinitely. Great. No problem.

That is what I get from them. I have seen them in the news a bit and fought for their religious freedom to practice it.
Not to far form them eh...? I am about a 45 minute drive from there.
Was just thinking I might want to contact them, after research of course.
