it all boils down to money and big fat corporate contracts that were drawn up before we even hit the dirt. the fear mongering over wmd's just helped sell the war to the american people.

Either way, Pakistan does in fact have real functional nukes and that probably had something to do with the US not invading.

I read a article a while back that was about a couple of US citizens that were basically at the wrong place at the wrong time and got sent there for a couple of years, I can't remember their names though.

we were attacked numerous times by a group of nutters, afghanistan's
government, the taliban, decided to protect the nutters, it was clearly
stated that we'd go to war with anyone trying to protect them, if the
taliban did not try and harbor these fugitives then we'd not be in
afghanistan... why we didnt invade pakistan is beyond me

if the canadians decided to attack china and then china invaded the US then
the comparison could be drawn, we'd give up the canadians though


How did they know who the "group of nutters" were once they got there?

Wouldn't a smart "nutter" just try to blend into the cities and act like a normal Afghan citizen?

Does firing on the US forces or being in the field of combat automatically make one a "terrorist"?  The fact of the matter is, they had to round up some of these people to legitimatize their mission.

no.

seems no one actually pays any attention to the truth, they want to believe
the lies they're fed by the tards and the media tards, there's no grand
conspiracy by the 'military industrial complex', it's fucking simple,
saddam invaded kuwait, kuwait asked for help, we and several other
countries helped kuwait, saddam surrendered and signed a surrender
agreement, from the time that saddam signed that agreement until the
invasion in 2003, saddam continually violated that surrender agreement and
as a result was bombed almost continually for 11 years prior to the
coalition forces moving back in in 2003

and yes margret, WMDs were found in iraq, some were being monitored for
over a decade and since they were not being destroyed and saddam was
blocking the UN inspection teams that monitored the shit from doing their
jobs and ensuring that the weapons were destroyed and not buried as was
happening, iraq was invaded a second time... the media put their spin on it
and then it was spun further by the people

Well, I'm not sure it's quite this black and white, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's because (quite unlike Iraq) Pakistan actually has "weapons of mass destruction," and we didn't want to get into a pissing match with a nuclear power.

I'm sure it was a factor, at the least....

I pointed that out too, but he changed the subject to whether or not supposed WMDs were really the reason for invading Iraq.

My comment concerned a likely reason that Pakistan was not invaded, in response to Pris's musings on invading Pakistan.

Pakistan has/had functioning nuclear weapons and was not invaded. Iraq had no nuclear weapons and was invaded, and IMO if it did have them an invasion would have been unlikely. I never offered an explanation for why Iraq was invaded, because that's not what I was talking about. The WMD thing was obviously a big selling point in gaining public support though.

i would tend to think that the procedure isn't that bad when you're not resisting. but someone cramming that down your throat while you're struggling is probably not that great.

i just wonder why this forum can't be over run by people trying to deflate other people repeatedly. hell, this place has got me doing it too. growery is better, but it's slow as shit.

I wouldn't myself force feed them but the courts demand it.  It would certainly be idiotic to grant them a release just because they won't eat.  My chosen solution would be to provide them with a sturdy chair on which to stand from which they can tie a rope I will happily supply to a sturdy hook in the ceiling which I will also happily supply.

Don't whine about the tone of the conversation here when you are one of the more snarky participants.  What kind of idiot remark was that about "when you do videos and shit... let me know. i'll maybe give a fuck about your opinion then."?  So this is what you consider a credential for intellectual discussion?  That someone makes a video?
