I compliment many of friends and i always mean it. i am surrounded by awesome people. :awesomenod:

oh and just yesterday a friend told me i am super chill. felt good but im not one to take compliments with pride. feels :blush:

Yeah I suck at taking compliments. But people often tell me I'm smart which leads me to believe that they are probably stupid.

Anybody who manages to lure me into conversation calls me smart so it doesn't affect me much, however on rare occasions where I meet someone who's intelligence I respect and we share that moment of silent acknowledgement, it's something I really appreciate.

Also when people who are like caricatures of popular culture call me weird or say I think too much.

I swear I'm not really as arrogant as I sound haha

My ex girlfriend told me yesterday that I really changed her life for the better and that if she hadn't known me that she thinks she would be in a much worse place in life right now.

Another ex girlfriend that I knew way back in highschool recently told me that I was a major catalyst for change in her life.

I was also told by some lady who teaches customer service seminars that I'm one of the best customer service specialists she's ever seen.

After playing guitar for a campfire full of strangers on numerous occasions, I've been told many times that they've never heard such heart in someone's music before.  Everyone, even when all whiskeyed and right revved up, seems to go hypnotic and sleepy when I play around the fire.

That's not what I'm going for and they are probably just being polite anyway, but it makes me feel good that my music "touches" people's hearts.

I've been told on numerous occasions by co workers at several jobs(rough, redneck, logging/industrial/lumber mill type jobs) that they've never met anyone like me.  I'm a very "different" cat. But I make everyone laugh regularly and people generally want to hang out with me.  But even though this compliment could be construed as bad, I kind of like it I think :tongue:

I've been told on numerous occasions by women that I was the first guy to ever give them a real soul shattering orgasm.  Probably lies though :evil:

I guess I have a general mistrust of people on a subconscious level.  Being thrown an empty compliment from someone just because they are trying to be nice doesn't really mean much to me.  I don't know if this is bad.  But it's the "numerous" amounts of the same compliment that really strike a chord with me.  In my subconscious mind, if I'm being told the same thing over again, by strangers not connected, it must REALLY be true.  It gives the compliment validity I guess.

The only 2 teachers I respected throughout my entire highschool career and a professor friend of the one who came in to came in to give a guest lecture all agreed, in front of the entire class, that was I "truly brilliant" [sic] after I walked in high as a kite, fell asleep during the lecture, and was woken up to answer a myriad of questions to try embarrassing me for sleeping the period away.
I went on spiel about a, then recent, study, related to the subject matter of the lecture, that showed that the mechanism of amphetamine that was responsible for the dopaminergic flood of awesomeness was the phosphorylation of the uptake vesicle, and yada, yada, yada, so on and so forth. Their collective look of astonishment would've been enough of a compliment to me, but for them to agree that I'm brilliant, in front of the entire class no less, pretty much made my day, and week for that matter.

The best compliments are from the people you respect the most, anybody can say nice things, but for that to come from them was absolutely awesome.
