Anyone else prone to Alzheimer's?

My family has a history of Alzheimer's, my grandma got it, she was a good women she doesn't even know who I am anymore, but its been like that for years im over it, But if I got Alzheimer's I would kill myself in a country where suicide pills are legal, before it got bad so I could die knowing my life and friends.

The thought that I might get it when im 60ish is very depressing, anyone else prone to Alzheimer's?

Its also very disturbing espeicilly the later stages of the disease, the ones near the end are so sad

I do.  My grandma has it.  That's 1 out of 4 grandparents so I don't know what that says about my chances.

My parents aren't really at that age yet.

Hopefully when I(we) am(are) older there will be a cure, prevention or treatment of some sorts.  Right now they don't have shit.

Anyways on top of that family history, I do some other things in my lifestyle that supposedly up my risk, that I'm not willing to quit doing, and that kinda sucks.

I wouldn't be surprised honestly if psychedelics had some positive relationship with dementia in general.

Shotgun in the mouth is definitely my preference, fastest way to go. Just got to make sure the gun is in proper working order and the barrels in the mouth not under the chin

Yeah, I'm prone to Alzheimers. One of the BEST ways of keeping yourself from turning on those pesky genes is just staying cognitively challeneged each day. Also, eating very well and exercising. I also know that many nootropics have proven to be helpful in labs overseas and when tested on rats especially, which means there's some huge potential there for limiting the problems associated with being genetically predisposed to Alzheimer's.

After watching my grandma go through that and working on the geriatric psych ward ain't no way I'm letting that happen to me. :justno:

I'm a strong disbeliever in genetic diseases. It's a logical fallacy. I think all diseases can be prevented with the proper diet. I also think the whole family history crap comes from the fact that you're parents are going to teach you the same things that they do in life, whether that be poor nutrition or what, which most likely will cause you to do the same as they did and will predispose you towards a certain disease. Just eat lots of fruits and vegetables and stay the hell away from processed shit. That's my best advice for you. If you do that you should have no worries about alzheimer's. Also, I believe Omega 3's are great for prevention.

Don't worry about it, OP.  By the time you get to be my age they will have a cure for the disease.

You have enough challenges in your life right now, so you don't need to be reaching for hypothetical problems.

im in the same boat. my grandma was diagnosed with the A last year. its only getting worse...

my grandpa died from it when i was 11.

im pretty sure this wont be the only person in my family who gets it, including myself. i cant even imagine the type of impact it will have on me due to all the drug use and drinking.
