I don't know if we would be better off or not

don't the countries look adorable at first, then they push apart.

But I think it helped with diversity too, which is cool

The countries do look adorable lol.

However, if there wasn't any tectonic shift then the Earths mantle and geology in general would no longer be active. I believe that would cause a collapse of the biosphere and eventually Earth would end up a tectonically locked dead world like Mars.

Sometime before Earth is swallowed up by the Sun when it becomes a red giant in billions of years the Earths mantle will in fact cool down to the point of becoming inactive though, thus ceasing continental drift.

Although I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that on the Science channel lol
