reality is itself a loaded word. it implies some sort of objective perspective. I usually think of a Parmendian block universe, which may be completely misdirected

yes, consciousness can travel anywhere without a body. however, "anywhere" and "everywhere" are not distinguishable without a body also


Now, that is just pure fantasy. There has never been any evidence that consciousness exists anywhere but within the brain. People claim that their own near death experiences prove it can, but these people are hardly in the best situation to make accurate observations. The fact that these experiences that have occurred when the somebody has "died" for a short period of time can be replicated using certain drugs IS evidence supporting the idea that these supernatural events are nothing but the biochemistry of the brain.

Eh I read that book, same version by Eknath. Not a fan. Prefer 'The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying' by Sogyal Rinpoche. Still not a fan of that one, but its a little more down to earth

What do you mean? It's not a book of genesis. It does however provide answers to some of the most fundamental questions about our existence. It's a spiritual text. And probably the most sensical one that exists. Forget the bible and everything else. If there is one text you should read in regards to spirituality it's this one. It also helps to have different translations. All of them are a little bit different but basically have the same message.

Seems that theories of everything are best investigated by taking some physics, chemistry, biology, philosophy, economics and linguistics courses. A paperback book an inch thick with that name is a bit of a joke.
