Jeff Beck!

Jeff Beck played at the molson ampitheatre tonight in Toronto... and for some reason (i guess the value, 10.70 cdn for galactic/jeffbeck/bb king!) i was under the impression going into the show that he would be a bit over the hill and that i might not be seeing exactly what i wanted/knew (early jeff beck)

but i was totally blown away.
jeff beck puts on one hell of a god damn show.. and he rocks just as hard now as he did on Wired and Blow by Blow

he played people get ready by curtis mayfield for his encore, and i was blown away because i'd been learning to play with it myself in the past month... it was awsome

Jeff Beck ROCKS!

Glad you enjoyed it, i wasn't there but i did manage to see Jeff Beck in Buffalo in the 70's during his blow by blow/Wired jazz fusion period....that song people get ready was actually out on a video he did with Rod Stewart back in the mid 80's :smile:

The guy is a legend. I've got a fantastic collection from him called, "The Week-end starts here! Hip Young Guitar Slinger!"
It chronicles all the studio work he done as a session musican. Loads of big names some pretty surprisin' ones that you would'nt have thought that he would have been involved with.

Just out of curiosity you could post a few of those names? i knew Beck had done some session work although Jimmy Page was always considered the resident studio guitarist of the Yardbirds(he did the solo on Hurdy Gurdy man by Donovan, for example) :smile:

he played at the warfield here in San Francisco and he was just shredding that thing. He sounds really raw on stage and his back up band aren't slouches either.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.
