This is why "EDM" has gone so mainstream * 1
    #18309412 -

http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/199160/edm-is-the-new-american-bubble/

Quite an interesting article about how big corporations make money on music. These people don't care about music it's all about $$$ to them.

I've noticed the rise of that fad ever since dubstep became popular in the end of 00s. Nowadays everybodys listening to this ultra plastical commercial bullshit and thinking they are hip.

Luckily there has always been an ever evolving underground flow of good music constantly coming out which will definitely outlive this fad. It's completely different ethos that drive that scene and that's why it will never fall.

I still can't believe dubstep got popular. It's just so ridiculous. When everybody suddenly started talking about how popular it was I was like :lolwut:

Then I heard it on the radio and I was like :dudewtf:

True story bro.

Yeah I really despise skrillex and his style of music.  Dude doesn't even actually make music. Fake DJ.

I'd listen to dubstep anyday over the rest of the popular music on the radio.

New, popular music's lyrics don't mean a thing; hardly any of them are written by the singer anymore.

At least dubstep went a step further and just took out the lyrics completely.

agreed. underground music doesn't mean anything to me anymore. I used to hate anything and everything slightly mainstream with a passion without even giving the tunes are fair listen. I would hate an artist for reasons completly irrelevant of his music.

nowadays only the music count. dude could make a track for a wal-mart tv add, if I dig it I dig it end of the story.

That's what I'm saying.
I'm not into this music but I see this in all genres.
An artist gets a lot of attention and people despise them for it, as if they shouldn't blow up.
Good music is good music.  We all should be able to appreciate it.

Whats "edm"?

My buddy on facebook said he was going to a "knife party" then I said "whats that? a party where you bring knives and everybody compares them?" and he goes "hahah no silly its EDM"

I still have no fucking clue what hes talking about..

Something there is mysteriously formed,
Existing before Heaven and Earth,
Silent, still, standing alone, unchanging,
All-pervading, unfailing,
I do not know its name; I call it tao.
If forced to give it a name, I call it
Great (ta). Being great, it flows out;
Flowing out means far-reaching;
Being far-reaching, it is said to return.

It's just a shot away..

LOL and your member title is 'Bass Addict'?

I don't understand why it matters who else enjoys what you do or who listened to it first. Do you let other people's decisions on other subjects affect your preferences? If so, I'd rather hang out with some heady festy burnout like BassFreak who is at least true enough to enjoy what he likes simply because he likes it; versus yourself who waivers depending on who is digging the scene.

You are the hippest ever for knowing all about that underground music scene. :rolleyes:
