Fainting and Blackouts - what does it feel like to Fade To Black?

Fainting and Blackouts.  The sudden or gradual loss of consciousness.

Have you experienced it? If so, please write an experience report of what it was like.  Did you know it was happening?  Was there an anxiety?  What did you feel?

In never fainted, but I had some near faints due to fall in blood pressure, like we all do.

I did have one blackout though.

I was merrily binging on Methylone, and had lost the plot a bit. Suddenly it dawned on me that I had taken 2 booster doses in 15 minutes.

Things got evermore intense.  Thoughts became tangible, hallucinations vivid, there was a sense of inner noise that went louder and louder.  Then amidst this turmoil an inner voice calmly said: "you are moving towards sensory overload, it will become too much to handle. Have no fear, I will temporarily shut you down to protect your mind.  I love you, do not be afraid."

Then suddenly

And I found myself coming to, still sitting in my chair, an hour or so had passed, my brain felt very tired like a storm had ripped through it, but all was peaceful now.

That was my one blackout.

Please, experience reports of faints and blackouts.

Feels like that half-asleep state when you're trying to wake up. You're all comfy and cozy then you SNAP awake. You didn't realise it as it was happening, but you just fell asleep. Kinda like that..

I passed out at a casino once too. I got up to walk to the bathroom. Mouth felt really dry, heart started racing, then cold sweat on my face. My vision started to fade, and my audio started to warp and echo. I knew I was passing out. Totally weird experience. I just stopped walking and sat on the floor then fell over. Nobody stopped or cared or did anything. People just walked around me.

I've been to black and feel like I never came back. If you look it at this phenomena as one should: subjectively, then not much can be said about it. It's only a way a life. I could expand on this, but the drug I'm on currenrntly, alcohol, is highly inhibiting my critical thinking skills, though I'm sure you fellas understand where I'm coming from

Last week I came across these pills 

Obviously should have done a little research on them beforehand, but I don't always think things through.  :foreheadslap:

Right at the bottom it says not to abuse this drug cause it can be harmful to your health. I popped a couple and it gave me a body high very similar to amphetamine. Then I fucked up, started popping them like candy. Although the body high is very similar to amp, it does not give you the same euphoria. I was feeling a great body high after I popped them on the car ride home! I know ephedrine isn't euphoric, but this is synephrine. Thought they might be a bit different.:shrug:

I enjoy to watch porn and do amphetamine. Figured I'd give it a shot, but by the time I realized the euphoria wasn't coming I had already taken too many. Vomiting, dizziness, and fainting.

I had never fainted before this night. I have started to blackout and needed to lay down, but this is straight up fainting. The pills definitely fucked my blood pressure up pretty bad because I would only faint when standing up.

Anyways, I got up to go to the bathroom, I started to slowly feel dizziness and blackness and the next thing I know, I am on the ground pissing on the floor. The next time it happened was when I went to go get a little food. I made it to the kitchen, but realized that I was about to faint again, so I headed back to my room. Didn't make it to the room, as I was falling everything went completely black. I smacked my head on the dining room table.

The last time I fainted from these was once more when I attempted to get food. This one wasn't as bad cause I made it to the fridge, started blacking out, and lay on the ground for a minute. The episode started to go away, so I continued to grab anything out of my fridge and crawled back to my room.

I didn't stand up for another day after that. Had to piss in a couple bottles while laying in bed, but that beats pissing on the floor.

Took me about two days to fully recover and I gotta say... This quote couldn't put it any better.



Normally I am super careful when trying something new. This was straight up spurr of the moment stupidity.:facepalm:

Yeah, it was pretty fucked up. The fainting felt exactly the same as when you stand up too quick. Except, the blackness slowly gets worse, and you end up on the floor.

I threw out the rest of the box. I kinda wish I didn't cause they would definitely help you stay awake, but I don't want to put myself at risk of another episode like that.

I'm feeling tip top today:cool: I got my ambien prescription refilled and it just gave me the most restful 5 hours of sleep I've had in a while. Now I have the whole day to get shit done. :dancer:

i was varnishing my dad's table in this small unventilated room and after about an hour i felt a sudden headrush and my body collapsing beneath me. funny thing was i fell sideways and could see myself in the mirror on the way down...

my first thoughts after were 'lol' and :feelsgoodman:

I've fainted a number of times from standing up too fast. It feels pretty awesome actually, like a pleasant body buzz.

Ive fainted a couple times when I was young. Once was from getting my  blood drawn at the doctors. I was out in the waiting room after my exam was over and I was waiting for one of my parents to finish up with their's I think. At first I start to feel a little uncomfortable, and then kind of over heated. After that I get real shifty in my seat and start to sweat a little as I mentally try and fight off this wave of dizziness coming on strongly. The edges of my vision begin to get fuzzy and then the fuzziness starts moving to the center of my vision and the fuzziness is trailed by darkness. This is the classic "tunnel vision". I do my damndest to fight it off but the tunnel vision wins and the tunnel closes into darkness just as the intensity of the dizziness and heat reaches a maximum.

The next thing I know I am looking upwards to people frantically asking if I am ok. I am on the floor.

I fainted from ephedrine too. I had taken a ridiculous amount and was high for a day or two and I drank some beer on the comedown. In the past times I've taken it I would get lightheaded standing up on the comedown so I made a point of standing up slowly and sitting back down if I felt dizzy.

I was nice and buzzed from the beer and in bed half asleep when my mom called me so I stood up really fast and walked into the hallway, I got really lightheaded and things started to fade to black. It's happened to me sober too and what I usually do is lean on the wall to steady myself until my vision comes back.

It didn't work this time, instead of my hand finding the wall it found a hanging portrait which fell off the wall and landed beside me.

I came to with broken glass around me and my mom screaming my name and crying, she thought I was dead.

When I was shooting tons of heroin, i used to black out/faint. It wasn't due to being high, i think it was due to not drinking/eating/sleeping. It was extremely scary.

I was in my kitchen and my dad was about 5 feet away, I start losing balance, everything goes black, and i lose all sense of where I am. It happened and i found myself on the floor right next to my fridge, screaming "AHHH WHERE AM I DAD PLEASE HELP ME" and i would attempt to crawl. i had no idea where I was, everything was completely black, and i was on the floor. i was using my hands to try too feel myself out of the whole thing. The reason why i was on thee ground was because i found out that whenever these blackout stints come along, a way to help fight it off is sit down right where you are. This time sitting down didn't work. I forget how i came out of the whole thing and consider myself lucky.

^ damn that sort of black out sounds a bit different than what I think of as fainting. Sounds a bit scarier than simply going unconcious for a second and then falling down (fainting).

It was very very frightening. I could feel it coming and i would immediately sit down to fight it off, but like i said that 1 time in the kitchen was the worst and sitting down didn't help. It would only happen when I was using heavily.

I have blacked out from dissociative drugs (miscalculating shot), but that isn't really "blacking out" or fainting but just anaesthetizing yourself so it doesn't really apply here.
I have blacked out on mushrooms - it was just thought loops getting worse and worse and worse, me thinking I was dying, and then nothing - I don't remember anything until I regained memory. ("Ego death!!")

didnt read thread, but i feel like an expert in this catagory

when i use to smoke weed it happened all the time, the one that sticks out most for me is, getting up to change the channel on the tv, then poof im getting up from the floor thinking, whyd i sleep on the floor, then about 10-20 seconds later i remembe i was just changeing the channel and i fainted

in a hospital this guy taught us a cool trick stand up with back against the wall so your pretty straight posture take a step foward  bend your knees, and push your arms, as far back and down as possible and hold your breath, you black out/faint everytime

ive only passed out a few times. mostly from nitrous. i feel like when ur phishing out hard you sont even notice u passed out unless u were standing when u hit the balloon. but ie def been rippin tanks after shows and phished out and landed directly on my face, everyone saw it and i still got scars on my face from it

other time was at a festival and i hadnt put anything up my nose THAT day but the day before i did mad blow and K and u know how sometimes the next day when u pick your nose and you get a booger, hen next thing u know blood is pouring outta your nose? well thats what happened and it wouldnt fuckin stop and next thing i know im sitting next to paramedics and extremely close to passing out. i was scared uz it was my first time passing out (while actually realizing it) and when they asked me what drugs ie been doing, for some reason i said coke and they thought i was ODing or sumthing so they rushed me to the medical tent. got a feee golf cart ride lol. i was fine tho, i def woulda passed out if i didnt eat pizza and arnold palmer 5 minutes before i picked my nose

There was a time in my early 20's where I had a few seizures and also some black outs from. It feels like waking up from a sleep you don't remember having. I cant really describe it any better than that. The blackouts after the seizures were worse though... The first time, I had no clue what happened, but after that I caught on. So after the following blackouts, I could tell I just had a seizure. The seizure blackouts were quite scary.... I was always very very confused, I couldnt even tell you my own name or my date of birth ETC.... It was also not good that the 2 times I woke up from a seizure, cops pretty much interrogating me like I was the first thing I could tell was happening! BEcause my mom called 911 the first time and my neighbor called 911 the second time.

The first time I came to, I had a friend over who left a bowl and some roaches out... So the cops INSTANTLY associated my seizure with drugs! accusing me of smoking "bad marijuana", when I didnt even smoke pot that day! I had work later that day so I wasnt going to smoke, but my friend wanted to and left the bowl out... So when I came out of the blackout, I couldnt even tell the cops my name or ANYTHING! So thats when they said I smoked laced weed. They also told me that they could arrest me if they wanted to. So that was pretty fucked up!

The second seizure was almost equally as fucked up because the cop put an oxygen mask on my and I couldnt breathe with it on. I kept pulling the mask away from my face and the cop kept yelling at me to stop.... It took at least 2-3 minutes for the asshole to realize that the oxygen tank was not working!!!!!! It was probably just out of air, but I dont know, because I was in SUCH A state of confusion. So they finally went to grab the oxygen tank from the second police car.

So the seizure blackouts were VERY scary and somewhat traumatizing. Because I came out of the blackouts and I could not tell you who I was, where I was, or what I was! all that came out of my mouth was gibberish... And the cops did NOT make this a pleasant experience for me.

:lol: Coke was the worst reply ever to give - one of the symptoms of severe coke overdose is bleeding.

Aww. I know how traumatic seizures can be. Do you still get them any more? Did you / do you have epilepsy? I dated a girl who had grand mal seizures. I am surprised the cops were so shitty to you - here in Canada the paramedics were always really nice to her.
